    1974 CB550K... how much?

The price seems a bit high. But if it is in really good shape then it could call for $2000. There are a lot of things to think about when getting a 30 year old bike. All of the parts may look good and working but remember they may not have been used all that much. Plus if the weather is as nice...

    Sleek & Sexy CL360

even if your mechanic adjusted the cam tensionor he probably didn't look at the wheel to see if there was anything left. Mine was completly fubar. I'd take the adjuster off and then look to see if there is a wheel, with a grove in the middle for the chain to run on. I believe you can see it...

Better bike for a cafe project?

I'd buy an XS650 at a deal in a second. You could do a cafe, bobber, chopper, or restore and it would all be good. I'm talking about the twins. I think no matter what you get you'll have fun.

Better bike for a cafe project?

Re: Best bike for a cafe project? If I had to pick I'd pick the CB550, I have the same year and model and all you would need to do is put clubman's on, new seat/tail, and thats about it. The frame from the tank back is pretty flat and is almost the same size as the 750's. That means you can buy...

Painting Questions Rattle vs Duplicolor Paint Shop

I used their gun metal gray color to match my 04 ford ranger. I was painting a black plastic grille to match the rest of the truck. It turned out good. my only complaint is that it came out kind of flat looking. I used the best clear I could find in a rattle can, but it seems a little flat, and...

71 cb350 twin shifter shaft seal?

well if your taking the old seal out isn't worth replacing it??? since your taking it out it doesn't matter how much you damage it. When you put it back in use the old one to push against and protect the new one.

    Polishing/Sanding aluminum

most home depot type stores should have some kind of polishing kit for a drill. I know i have a ryobi one that uses a 4" polishing wheel, and it's just a threaded bolt that has some locking nuts and washers on it, and then tappers down to the size of a drill chuck.

Painting frame and tank Questions....to strip or not to strip?

Some of the time the reasoning is to check for rust or other hidden issues. If you are welding or modifying the frame you'll need bare metal on the frame. Some people just want that new luster from the frame up. As far as tank I'd say strip it every time you paint it. It will allow you to get a...

custom exhaust or buy a MAC 2 into 1

I want some new headers for my 350 twin but I can't weld. I was wondering what it would cost (ballpark) to have someone custom make some headers that don't swoop as much as the stockers. I also want it to be a 2 into 1 system. I know Mac exhaust makes a kit but the tip is hideious! I was...

    $50 mod thread

Put a magnet inside a plastic bag and use it to pick up all the swarf and crap from around your machinery. When finished, turn the bag inside out to catch all the stuff as you disengage the magnet. Chuck the bag in the bin.

Anyone got any advice on painting shocks?

I was wondering what kind of look that tool handle grip stuff would work. You know the stuff you dip a wrench handle in to give it a rubber grip...? I don't know if it would come out looking too thick? It probably wouldn't crack though. Anyone who has used this stuff before think it would...

    i need body work help

I'd say bondo. What I did was use a red sharpie marker and draw circles around the low spots, and X's through the high spots. I filled the circles with bondo and then would sand down. If you hit the sharpie lines you know where to stop or if you went too far. With the X's you can just sand until...
