    1974 RD350 Back To OG

This has been on hold as getting the original engine took some time. I kept calling the guy who had and it he was pretty busy and couldn't meet me. Then he stopped taking my calls and I was thinking uh oh I went the restoration route based on that matching number engine. Finally just a couple...

    1974 RD350 Back To OG

I took that original bucket, scuffed and cleared it. That really brought out what it might have been way back when. I used the bottom of the bucket which is well protected from the sun. But with or without sun they all change color after that many decades. I got the color with just the one...

    1974 RD350 Back To OG

I was trying to match the original color as close as I could. The original color is a candy three part paint so it took some trial and error to get it right. On the right is 41 year old original paint bucket. Left is a two day old repaint.

    1974 RD350 Back To OG

A prior owner fitted some rearsets which aren't going to work for me. He drilled out the passenger peg brackets so I welded up and re-drilled.

    1974 RD350 Back To OG

A DTT member had a few bikes he wanted to get rid of so I went over and took them off his hands. This being one of them. Biggest problem with this one is it has a 400 engine in it. Luckily the bike came with some old paperwork and I was able to snail mail a few owners back and he still had the...

    CB350f Paint

The time and patience it takes to tape and remove tape and tape and remove tape and tape and remove tape, makes me tired just looking at it. On plastic I tend to shoot some Bulldog before I primer just to avoid any problems. Came out great, nice work.

    RD400 Custom

I agree they should be on the edge. If I was going road racing again that's where they'd be. I don't agree that they are doing harm but I get what you're saying. This is just a fun bike to hang out with the crew on a nice day. I only welded them on the inside(except on the backbone because of...

    RD400 Custom

Appreciate the heads up but I installed the forks before I welded up the mounts for the tank. I did have to weld up my own steering stops to prevent contact with the tank but still plenty of travel. I think the angle of the picture makes it look tighter than it is. When I get it back to a...

    RD400 Custom

This is what I started with. The PO stripped it down and had a lot of parts but nothing bolted together it was just an idea. I dug it so took it on and will get it on the road again. Tried a few different tanks. This is a RD250 tank it looked too small. This is a Euro RD400 tank which is...
