100/100/100/100 Ride in the spring

I'm once again hoping and planning to make a 100/100/100/100 ride this spring:

Over 100 years combined age of bike & rider
61 (my age) + 44 (1975 Norton's age) = 105

100th day of the year - 4/10/19

100 miles minimum ride distance

"The Ton" (100 MPH, at some point in the ride)

I'm HOPING it's not over 100 degrees on 4/10...

I'm also hoping to do a total of 1,000 miles in under 24 hours on the same ride, so I can finally claim a "Saddle Sore 1,000" Iron Butt ride before I'm too old to handle it without undue pain, and definitely without a huge tour boat.

Anyone else want to try for it?

As some are not inclined to exceed the speed limit, you can skip that part and make it a 100/100/100 ride.

As some others may be too young and/or have too new a bike, you can always add a pillion to reach 100 years total ages for a 100/100/100 ride.

I have the 100 years nailed, having 66 years on my clock and both a '79 and '78 bike. 100 mph should be no problem on the GL1000 - not sure the CB750 will be trustworthy for it yet. 100 miles? No problem! 4-10-2019 is a Wednesday, so that should be low-traffic on say.... US129 (AKA the Dragon). Might just try it!
BTW, no way I would try a SS1000 on anything other than my huge tour boat GL1800.

I'll be 40 this year, so I need to find a bike from 1959 or earlier?
Yep.

...unless you get a passenger and ride a newer bike. (or a really old passenger, and a brand new bike).

I did a 1000 mile day on a 78 kz650 a few years ago and it damn near killed me. The craziest part was even after I made it to my destination it still felt like I was being buffeted by the wind

Me 71, bike '77 XS650 easily qualifies at 112. The ton and the distance I dunno? Maybe Ill find out, depends on the weather.

I couldn't do it this year. I'll turn 54 on April the 9th and would need a 73 model year.
But the year after could be done. I have a 74 KZ400 frame and parts................? ;D

.

70 days to go...

If your bike is "down", you'd best get with the program and get working on it.

NEVER MIND THE FREEZING WEATHER!!!

hmmm... where to find a 100mph capable 1947 or earlier machine... lol

if my wife rode, I could bump it up to a 1976 and ride my beemer, but alas, she doesn't ride

Tell you what, if you top TWO hundred, the age doesn't matter.

There, fixed it.

Theres always Vincent and Crocker for that, just need to be a millionaire to ride one

There are several "affordable" (always a relative term) 1940s bikes that could do the job...

I was FINALLY able to do a 100/100/100/100/100/100 ride last April (2019).

Me (61 at the time) aboard my '70 Bonneville (49 at the time) = 110
Temperature in South Texas at the time = 100F+
Laredo to Hebbronville and back, for lunch = 111 miles
Topped 100 MPH at least once
Averaged over 100 miles in 100 minutes (while riding)
April 9th = 100th day of the year (It will be April 9th this year, a leap year)

There are any number of interesting "100s" you can come up with, if you try. We stopped to gas up at a little store and the address happened to be 111 East Hwy 359 (same as the total miles I rode).

So, get out the old bikes, fellows, and prepare!
