Couldn't resist when it was posted for sale. Made the deal, and will be picking it up in a week or so. Should be fun.

The plan is as follows:

1. Get it ready for safety - tires, petcock, fix signal lights etc. Just bare minimum.
2. Register it, plate it, insure it
3. Ride it once or twice if possible to Timmy's on Thursday nights :)

4. Dismantle it

5. Powdercoat everything that's currently red to gloss black - everything is steel, including I think the sidecovers.
6. Buy a black solo-seat for it
7. Rebuild the engine - new pistons/rings, valve job, gaskets, repaint the engine cases etc.
8. Polish the snot out of the chrome
9. Replace the silencers

10. Reassemble
11. Enjoy
12. Find another project

Quick stock rebuild. Only changes are the color and the seat.

Current condition:

Re: My NEXT PROJECT! Deal is done - parts already being bought

Dude.... I was so interested in this thing. I was bumbed to find out out it was in Canada.
Well, good for you. Glad to see it ended up in good hands.

Re: My NEXT PROJECT! Deal is done - parts already being bought

I will look forward to the progress on this one. Should be fun for you.

Re: My NEXT PROJECT! Deal is done - parts already being bought

It was advertised for $700 (Canadian) and I got it for a bit less than that. It runs, but has low compression and needs a few small bits (signal light lenses etc).

We'll see if the compression is the rings or valves and take it from there.

Nice. Sounds like it'll be a clean, mild cafe. Very classy! 8)

Re: My NEXT PROJECT! Deal is done - parts already being bought

This one will remain perfectly stock - the solo seat is a stock item :)

Re: My NEXT PROJECT! Deal is done - parts already being bought

The seat I get will look nicer than this, but it gives you an idea.

Tim, Looks like a fun project. Can't wait to watch it come to life! Man I really like the first black bike you posted, then you went and posted the above pic. that bike is sick! Makes me weak in the knees! ;D

Re: My NEXT PROJECT! Deal is done - parts already being bought

Nope - 2017 - for my daughter's 16th.

Re: My NEXT PROJECT! Deal is done - parts already being bought

you are the coolest father in the world! my dad sold all his bikes when i turned 16!

Re: My NEXT PROJECT! Deal is done - parts already being bought

I'm keeping all mine (at least I'm saying that now). It's a nice variety:

BMW R75 stock for day to day and touring
XS650 Cafe for shits and giggles
CA95 for the vintage appeal and a good little city runabout not worth a bunch of money

I really like the 1950's era bikes. Expensive to buy and restore though.

Gotta read up on the Benly branded Honda's - there were some nice lookin' bikes.

That's a nice 12 step program there brother  ;D You may have missed the all important "explain to my wife why the tiny car just doesn't fit in the garage anymore"... recomend full gear for that step... and flowers... good ones not grocery store ones ;)

Funny... I was just looking at that listing this past weekend (it showed up on the Winnipeg Kijiji) and thought about e-mailing it to you... guess I didn't have to ;)
