a little mock up but running into more alignment issues than planned and the foam for the seat wont work. i know everyone says check upholstery shops for foam but i cant find ANY. i just want black neoprene and im tired of ordering stuff and having to wait. once i mount this after work i swear im riding bare metal.

thanks man. yeah, for a steal compared to most NOS tanks. i only had the white thing going for a few weeks now but i liked it too. just cant bring myself to paint over the original tank. its hard to tell but the seat is steel so im thinking of just doing white there to keep the scheme going. should have some better pics when its all buttoned up.

Re: 1969 cb350 project NEW SEAT! 3/26/11

got everything together and mounted just in time for it to rain. i did get down the road with it though. so different with that seat and the baffles seem to really help the bike idle better with me sticking with the straight pipes. still have to put on the new grips and paint the emblems for the tank so its not done yet. IT NEEDS REAR SETS SO BAD.

actually i got it off ebay. they are available on a couple of websites but ebay would give it to me faster with free shipping. got it from a company called pinwill cycle i think.
here is one now NEW Shinko 712 120/90-18 REAR Motorcycle Tire. i love it so far with no complaints, rock it if you like the look for sure.

Great man I'm actually gonna order it now! Would you mind telling me the size front you have on it as well? By the same company/same series?

the front tire is a 90/90-18 but its an Avon Roadrider. i didnt know better back then when i bought it. dont get me wrong, arguably, there is no better brand tire for our cafes than avon but it cost over $100 for that front tire. not quite worth it to me now which is why i went with the rear i have.

Great infro man thank you much! I wonder if shinko makes that same size front?

Found a front and rear tire set on ebay that would fit my bike Shinko 712 100/90-19 & 120/90-18
but they are tubeless tires. Could I put them to use on my stock wheels
?

yeah most of the modern tires will all say tubeless. both of mine are though you will still need a tube. some tires then required a tube but thankfully its our rim that requires the tube, not the tire itself. most of the motorcycle shops around here carry our sizes but i would call. they order pretty cheap for around $16.

Just caught up with this. Great little build you've got going there CB. I wouldn't worry about spending that much on a front tyre. I'm sure it's going to be a better in the long run. My experience is you can economise on a lot of things, but rubber isn't one of them.

Looking sweet ;)

cheers
ian

im not positive how this works either but my bike is getting no love and its nearing completion. maybe this will help
wink.gif
Well, that's not how it was supposed to work but I am here now!!
Keep it up!

my cheap plug WORKED! ha but really thanks guys. my first bike/build so just need some comments every now and then. good and bad.

I'm with ya Dublin!!! Great build so far man, can't wait to see it with the rearsets! By the way, how much do you want for that tank?

you dont want my old tank. it had a huge dent in it that had to be sealed up and the bondo job was pretty rough. it still has pin holes in it that i had to patch with jb weld here and there. the white just masked all that trust me. i couldnt in conscience give that tank away.

Well thank you for being honest man.

just some basics. the bike is looking good so i need to get it running good. patched some small breaks in the diaphragm. luckily it wasn't through the it. my bike has always run a bit rich and had some idle issues. i know there are a million scenarios but anyone know the primary main jet size on a stock 350. ive got a 70 (?) and a 115 secondary.

so i found most people say that 68/105 is stock. i think someone rebuilt these to high. ignition/timing is fine so unless my rings are bad this has to be why im running rich. right?
