Ya should clear just fine, got a little bit of a longer shock. If it doesn't nothing wrong with redoing it a little to make it work.

i really dig the color combo on the engine. We are planning to do similar to a bike we a in process of building except the side covers will be polished.

Was able to get the engine mounted on the frame. I ended up putting the engine on the ground on its side and then placing the frame over the top. Took a little bit to get it in but was able to at least do it without scratches.

The matching frame and crankcase covers looks great next to each other. Kudos for getting the motor in without scratching. I took my starter & exhaust studs off before I put mine back in and still managed a nick or two.

So when I put the complete engine into the frame I started wiring up the starter and notice with a test lamp that the cable coming from the starter has been grounded out. Not sure what is going on. And if I just run positive current to the cable and negative to the outer casing it shorts. Anyone have some recommendation on why this happening? Before I put the engine back in I painted it and removed the starter, so maybe I put it in wrong or something.

I ended up pulling the starter out cleaned it up and now its working. Glad thats been resolved. On another note, I am running the original headlight bucket but was wanting to update the headlight to a stronger more powerful version. Does anyone know what headlight will mount to the bucket?

The stock headlight on early CL350s is a rather odd size (i.e. not 7"). DCC sells replacement sealed units for it but I'd recommend getting a 7" bucket with a non-sealed unit and putting in a 35 watt H4 bulb. I've also heard of people breaking the original bulb out of the original sealed unit and just inserting an H4 socket and bulb then gluing it all back together but that sounds a little janky IMO.
