1971 Kawasaki G3SS

Thanks man, it should be a blast! Here's a pic with a 6' guy behind it to give you an idea of the size...

Your pipe reminds me of drawings that would come across my desk from engineering design and I'd have to say, "Er, ah, I don't think we can build that..."
Have you considered a hydroformed exhaust?
Pat.

Nice!!! what design is that? Hope it's the up and thru. looks killer with the guy standing next to it

Yup, that's the one... ;)
Hydroforming would actually be more of a pain to get the layout exactly right.
Now if I only had non- linear stress analysis, that would be a fun project.

Based on previous pipes, this one should take about 3-4 hours to weld up.

I'm insanely jealous! I would love to be able to design and cut a 2 stroke pipe.

Nice! It makes my pipes on GT500 look easy ;D The worst part is cutting all the pieces out, unless they are laser cut of course which I imagine you will be getting done. I like this project a lot I think it will look wicked when finished.

Signed up on the forum just for this bike alone. Have to say there is a lot of inspiration here though. I'm in the middle of turning my 73 g3ss-c into a cafe racer. What are the chances you can make me a pipe? You're fab work looks awesome! A pipe is really the only thing missing from my build. Excited to see how yours turns out. You're daughter is going to have a SICK bike! Jealous....

Thanks for that! :)
I don't sell finished pipes but I do sell pipe kits. I also plan to make a low pipe with only 10-12 segments for those that are a little more sane. :)

Here's a link to my triple pipes I have now...

perfect, a low pipe is what i need actually. i'm using smaller shocks, so i wouldn't have enough room to run under the seat. that pipe is beautiful though!

Check out this build... It's what gave me my motivation to have one of these things...

Haha i think that bike is inspirational material for anyone who owns a g3/kh ect. first bike i saw too. threw a pic of mine in it's current state. still much to be done, but i'm broke.

You are allot further along than I am! 8)
I hear you on the cash thing... my wants and needs for this thing is piling up... It's all good though. A great way to pass the off-season in the great white north. :D

Well some new swag showed up at my doorstep...The assembly width is less than the old drum so it should be a snap to retrofit. :)
I'll have to revisit the bikes geometry now I've made the move to 17" wheels.
I maybe looking for a different triple clamp offset to compensate...

Well not much to report this week, still focused on gathering components... I did manage to mock up the pipe with card stock though. It's about 90% there, but I still need to do some tweaking.
Surprisingly the pipe slips in from the right like it was meant to be though, I'm happy about that! :)
