1972 Honda CL350 First Time Build

Looks like BCR likes to "cobble" the rear sets together to

Wow its amazing I am getting so much grief for this considering the thousands of people running this setup with no complaints
:) Oh well i like it. If it doesn't work...I will change it. "Every failure is a lesson in success".

So what's the alternative? A cable (being a straight line under tension) would have the same geometry constraints as a rod. Can someone propose a solution here?

the solution is a sheathed cable like on the front brake or run a linkage to the stock actuation point using the stock pullrod, so you can have adjustable pedal static position and adjustable pedal travel and not have the pedal move with every bump and always have a ton of travel before the brake applies
yes it is hilarious that lots of "builders" hook up the rear brake in such a manner, those bikes look very cool indeed, but such details are a perfect way to see how many of them are clueless and careless to proper function ...

looks good! nice work!
fyi, my brake setup is functionally identical (my bend is in the pedal lever like the bcr example, not the rod itself but it works the same) and it's completely rideable...

Exhaust installed. ;D If only the SS zip ties I bought were worth a Damn. I guess the black plastic ones will have to do untill I get some better ones and some Exhaust clamps.
The mufflers are 1.5" SS Shorty Reverse cones from dime city

I am going to come up with a new hanger bracket, I am not a fan of the factory one.
The clearance is tight but there is about 1/4in clearance from the shock.
