Got it sanded, again, bought the etch primer and got the underside done. Will top coat tonight as it will be warm enough and we'll see how it looks. I think it's good though. If it is warm enough I have the colour too.
The pics don't show the colour the best. Its more blue in person. Sunlite pics should show true. Need to pick up satin 2k clear for when we can do that. The dash lights are still circling china. The badges need refresh and we need to design and make bags. One last derust of the tank and it will be ready to test ride. So close.
It was 7.99 premier satin from CT paint section. Came out like a fire hose. I had just laid a nice coat of etch an hour before and this was completely different spray pattern and volume and it caught me off guard a bit. I am going to try using a duplicolor nozzle on the can and test it before I fix it. Just wanted to see the color on the tank and get the thumbs up to know it's what the future owner wants. He likes it so I can fix and finish. He needs to redo the honda badges to match it.
Nice color. I hope the Duplicolor nozzles fit. Why don't others give us good nozzles like that? The only rattle cans I like are Duplicolor and SprayMax. I like the Rustoleum paint, but their nozzles suck big time. BTW - always make sure your glove on the sprayer hand is TIGHT. A loose glove tip getting in the spray can screw up big time.
I've always had really good results from their 2x stuff.
Perhaps the nozzle you got was an unfortunate one-off abnormality. Have you tried using one of those trigger handles on your spray bombs? I know that when I started using one there was an instant noticeable change in the quality of my painting efforts. Consistent use of it has taken my spray bomb game from "frustrating" to "usually relatively acceptable."
I have one of the handles, I should have used it on this one but I don't need the thing on the Duplicolor can and didn't think to snap it on the other. I'll put it on for round 2. The can has enough paint I can shag it up at least 3 more times before I run out LOL.
