1975 CB125 Tracker project

The bike has been dumped a few times from the looks if things. The headlight ears are bent as hell. May need to source new ones if we cant straighten the originals.

So aside from the mechanical disc being shit to begin with, there's this. So ordered up a cbr125/250 master caliper and brake line from ebay. Slow boat from china likely but will figure out how to use it to upgrade the brake. May have to hack the old caliper up to make a mount. We'll see when it lands but it should be appropriate power wise.

Hope to be able to straighten this and clean it up. NOS and repros are all over ebay but like to use the money someplace else on the bike. Found a NOS speedo in KPH I'll likey order for it too.

Yeah, those things look buggered alright. I have a couple sets I think in the Goldwing parts stash - think they'll fit? I can send a pair over with the fender if you can make them work...

Thanks Jim, but the GL ones would be way to big. If these are un fixable I can look at after market ears. In fact I think I have a set in my parts stash.

Pulled the axle. There was asphalt imbedded in the same side that the lever is busted and headlight ear bent

Up on the table.pics loaded backwards. First is the taco cable. It spins and is usable but has some damage to the sheeth. Enter self fusing tape.

all sealed and lubed and ready to go. Speedo cable was brand new. As was throttle cable. It was sticky but a good lube got it sorted.

Bike has one whole fuse. Old holder was mia so new one all soldered in. Modern mini blades with 4 spares to store on the bike .

I like it........I just picked up a CL100, and want to do some experiments with it......12v, convert shocks from a cb175, maybe fat tires.

I have a 21 inch front wheel I may see if it can be spoked to this little front hub. Course I have other projects too.......

Not a lot of time on the bike over Christmas but did some looking on the interwebs and found out the cb125 and cb200 are the same front caliper design so looking for upgrade how to's got more hits. Found a few folks who posted templates of brackets so I downloaded those and it may make it faster and easier to do. We'll get back at stuff tomorrow once family is all gone back to work etc. Merry Christmas.

Didna little after oil on yaris. Polished up front wheel and shocks. Filed off the broken cable mount from control. Can't do much more front end wise until the brake system shows up.

Damn they came up nice, what did you use to knock off the rust? Irk posted about Simichrome polish a while back and that's become my go-to, that and some 0000 steel wool. Nice job mate.

More elbow grease, simichrome, 0000 wool and rags. Things are cleaning up really nice. Just realized, to put the hydro master and leaver I will need to actually remove that mirror mount for clearance at the bars. Have to figure out another mirror mount later.

Also, i realized the master/caliper I bought is a dirtbike and has no brake light switch so will have to add a hydraulic one.

This makes clearance and I think I can use the old lever pearch hole for a mirror mount. My old GL master fits so the much smaller dirtbike cr125/250 should too.

Ok so a drill and m8 tap and test with a mirror set already in parts bin bought for another project and Roberts your mothers brother. If he likes these, great if not ebay has millions of m8 1.25 mirrors.
