1975 CB125 Tracker project

Thanks, William and I like it too.

Taking it one step further est, for the remaining bits below.
battery $40
Speedo $65-75 so far oem or aftermarket, hoping to find a good used someplace.
Tires looks like about $235ish for tires and tubes if we go Michelin or Avon less for cheaper brands
Paint will be about $100-$150 likely as we'll be buying mixed cans unless we can find the colours he wants in an off the shelf can
Brake bits and other little bits let's say $100.

Total bike cost if we max each of the above $1138.48 the bike should be worth min 1500 when done so that's a fine number, still going to do what we can to keep it lower but if at the end he can't won't ride it we'll not be out any $ and we'll have had the shop time together.

Shop time together = priceless

Unless he keeps knocking shit over in which case priceless, but aggravating

Ha! he's well past that age LOL. his sister now, I've lost at least 3 tools that have been moved or put in someplace only a 2 year old would put it.

I know but the CAD retailers here have stopped carrying them as Shinko sales rep told them to raise their prices! instead both companies said F-U we're not carrying shinko's anymore. I can't get them X-USA with boarders closed any cheaper than the Avon or Michelins here.

*Edit, one of the sites is still selling the 712's but the price has gone from around $65 to $104, they now cost the same as the Michelins or Avons. They are no longer a budget friendly choice. I noticed the 230 I paid around $100 for has gone up to $130. So when time comes to change the GL tires I'll be not just springing for the Shinko automatically.

** Edit again, 712's don't even come in the right sizes, the SR241 Dual sport is the only one that has appropriate sizes.

Coming together nicely! Just a thought, have you tried to find if someone makes a decal for a kph speedo rather than buying a whole new speedo? Or maybe just a face plate out of a kph speedo? They’re not to hard to take apart so if you want to save some cash it might be worth a look

I have and will. Sonrier used to and I was going to pm him to start

OK. so while waiting on parts work has stalled a bit for now. I have spent a lot of time looking for tires and there is very little actually available in the exact size for the bike. Duro make some and Michelin does and that's about it that I can get in North America, Avon has some close but they are about an inch wider in F and R over original. I almost pulled the trigger on the Michelins from 4into1 but they can't send tires into Canada dammit and none of the CND sites have the same tires in stock. A set of Duro in the 2.5 18 F and 3.0 18 R with tubes can be had taxes in to the door $128. They get decent reviews and actually look exactly like the Cheng Sheng ones on the bike now. Looks like unless I can figure out how to get the 4into1 into Canada I'll be ordering the Duro. Anybody know any other sources for little bike tires?

I hear you. I'm waiting on the carb brass I managed to dig up on the web but mail is so painfully slow at the moment what with one thing and another. So I think I'll swerve and work on the belts in the meantime. Glad you sourced those tires.

I have Duros on my Honda CL72 and I had them on my Evo chopper. They were as good as anything else I had on other bikes.

I think the Duro's will be the ticket. I found out for $25 I can get a package of up to 35lbs imported over for pickup at the boarder so I can grab the ones from 4into1 though reasonable too. I'll check again in a month or so when ready to buy. After import tax etc the 4into1 michelin cities come out over $220 so the Duro's it is. this won't be a race bike.

If parts don't arrive for the brake I think we'll tackle bags/sidecovers. Some interweb inspiration.

I like the Triump and the matching seat. If there is enough leather we could maybe pull the cover carefully and redo the seat so it matches the bags as well. The seat is brand new so I do not want to ruin the cover.

I have always liked that tool/utility bag replacement for the stock side cover idea. I think it will look great man.

Thanks, I'm liking it too. Utility and looks. I want the try and make the one on the tool box side have an opening to the box so you can open the bag and then the tool box so we don't lose the storage.

Parts are rolling in. these were ordered about 2 days before the brake parts so hoping they arrive by end of week.
