1975 CB125 Tracker project

JB all sanded, finish sanding this week and should be 66 and low humidity on Sat so hope to paint and clear everything then.

Shaping up well. JB Weld huh - decent filler material? I used it to fill some pinholes on some tubing, does it work well on larger holes like this? No shrinkage? No problem with primer/paint?

I've used it a lot to fill holes like this in both metal and plastic. I works great and is structural, unlike body filler that can crack and fall out. There is masking tape behind these that kept the JB from sagging into the holes until it dried. I may need a very small skim of filler but I'll try filler primer first. they feel smooth to touch but until I prime I won't know for sure, Need a full sand out of the parts first too.

FWTW, I used JB to fill the indents for the HONDA badges on the sides of the CB500T tank I used in the Hedgehog. I had heard (and seen) that Bondo doesn't work well for that kind of filling and then heard about using JB. I thought it worked very well; sanded nicely, and after filling and primer, painted well, too.

I've done the same for the same reasons. Needed just a slim skim of polyester filler as you could just see the dips. Will sand and prime again and see how it looks. The jb is the solid structure so the filler will be paper thin.

Thanks. Tanks last wetsand and paint. Hoping temps hit high enough to clear. Did a big dent repair on Pilot I'm going to use the 2k on after bike bits are done. They say 18-25C on spraymax can we're supposed to get to 16 C but hoping out of the wind and in the south sun where I setup to do it it will be good.

Checking on the parts and the tank looks perfect but the side covers have now got the filler circles showing up dammit. the clear made them pop out for some reason. I think I may redo them with regular clear as the gas proofing isn't as critical on them as the tank.

Bummer. It's a dark art is filler
Ain't that the truth?!?!?! I had a couple of spots on the Hedgehog that drove me batty(er). They looked perfect in primer and looked perfect w/ the silver color, but once the clear went on there were terribly noticeable places, couldn't miss 'em. Very frustrating.

Yep, I still have colour so I think if they bug me I will re-shoot and use standard matt clear and be done
