1976 CB 550 build

Custom motorcycle parts and aluminum fabrication
Hi, We just finished up our first build, and I was hoping for some feedback.

bedlam%20cafe%20racer%20pop%20pop%20005.jpg

We customized the frame, fabricated the seat pan and tank, and did some performance mods and lightened it up.
You can see some pictures and read a more detailed description of what we did to the bike at Bedlam Werks - custom cafe racers.

Anyway, I'd love to hear any thoughts or critiques you may have.
Thanks,
Travis Christopher

Solid work... Bike looks really nice!

Checked out all the pics on your site.

Any clearance issues with the rear tire and the seat section. Looks close by the amount of exposed shock shaft.

Looks like there is some nice wiring going on under the top tree.

Thanks Guys,
No clearance issues at all, the pictures are a little deceptive on that point. I have actually reworked the dash, for a somewhat cleaner look, recessed the speedo, and polished it. I'll get some new pics up soon.

IS it a tribute to Ringo's or just a copy? Same frame style, same paint, similar tank look etc. Pity about the frame. but that can be braced to make up for those rear struts. Nice workmanship, but please fit a fork brace and rear fender and get rid of that oversized front tire before you sell it to some unsuspecting shmo.

What kind of switches are those? Where were they purchased? What kind of connectors did you go with?

It has nothing to do with the bike that you were infatuated with Teazer. Clearly you're an idiot on multiple forums.

Well that's an interesting response. You came here to tout your skills and abilities as a professional builder and want to be treated seriously and that's the reply to a straight question. There are many ways to answer and yours tends to suggest that you may well have copied Ringo's Gulf project and now you are upset for being called out. I'm not infatuated with any bike. There are a few I lust after but that's another story. :)

Please reconsider that response and how you would like to interact with people, because it does matter if you want to be a successful business person. Just out of professional curiosity, is one of you a licensed mechanic and is the business licensed to sell used motor vehicles in your state?

Wow...not quite what I'd call a professional response.

Nice bike, I really like the looks of it! What I really like is the colors and the way the engine looks. To me, it looks like an old racer that someone polished up and did some work on for modern use. I like bikes that still have an older feel to them. To me, the engine adds that classic touch to it since it looks older and not too clean. Nice work!

Rich, don't be shy. Tell us what you really think. :)

Cut him some slack. He's quite you and inexperienced and has a lot to learn. They didn't do a bad job of building a tribute to Ringo's Gulf bike, but it needs to be finished off to be safe.

I didn't say anything about the bike - agreed that it's a hell of a piece of work, needing a couple of finishing touches. If my kids showed up talking the same way I'd say the same thing :)

You're an asshole

Rich, You are correct, I did allow my patience to run thin with Teazer. Teazer I apologize for my harsh reaction.

There we go! Nice bike, and glad to see you're a human being. Looking forward to more.

Heyo! Interesting! I hope it's not a tribute to me or mine though as I was just doing a tribute to Gulf. Plus I'm a verified moron. Dangerous emulating my type.
