More pics of the fiberglass cowl progress.

Rear sets from Dime City Cycles, custom mounts designed by me and made by my cousin on his mill.

Most of the fab is complete so the bike is completely taken apart for paint and powder.

I got the bike completely back together and took it on its first ride to figure out that I had a cracked oil line and leaking carbs.

Making new steel braided oil lines. Fixing cracked and leaking float bowl tubes, heat and solder...perfect!

Bike is pretty much complete other than the dripping oil from the stator cover gasket and fine tuning the jetting for my altitude (we ride 6000' - 9000' here in Colorado Springs)

Oh yeah and finally got my oil pressure gauge from Joker Machine!

Bike looks amazing. Great build. Follow my 79' 750k build. A little budget this year but hopefully getting deep into it soon.

Is that rear seat cowl removable so that you could switch between brat seat and cafe seat?

I wanted the option to have a passenger. I have a set of passenger pegs that thread into tabs I put on the frame also. I am currently building a bike for my wife, but until it is complete she will go on short rides with me. It will ride 2 but short rides only.

Plus I thought it was pretty cool make it removable...

Very cool seat, inspired by the Thruxton?
Have been thinking of doing a similar solution. Have you given the bodywork clearcoat yet?

Honestly when I started the build in August I didn't even know what a Thruxton was. I came up with the idea because I knew I wanted a cowl but also knew my wife and kids would kill me if I built a bike that they couldn't at least go on short rides on.

As for the paint, it is cleared. The pictures don't really do it justice. It is Honda Planet Blue Metallic to keep an original(1975) Honda color for vintage appeal but I did a satin sheen on the blue and a high gloss on the white stripe. I need to take some pictures with something other than an iphone.

Thanks for looking! Thanks VonYinzer

That turned out really nice, well done. I have a soft spot for the 77/78 F's. I really like the rearset solution, very similar to mine.

If you pick up a break light sensor banjo for the rear master cylinder you can ditch the stock spring mechanism.

I didn't even know those existed! I now have one on the way, thanks Tweakin!

Fixed all oil leaks (new oil tank (weld was leaking), new stator cover gasket, front fork was leaking through the bottom bolt (had to replace the copper washer)), and installed new Tarozzi low rise clip-ons. The exhaust was dragging in right hand corners so I had to raise the bike back up to stock height.
