1977 CB750F "El Moto"

Beautiful bike. Love the colors and that rear cowl is awesome! I may steal some ideas here for my bike. I want to be able to ride 2 up but love how a solo seat looks with a rear hump. I've been working out how to accomplish this and you have shown some great ideas in your build. Thanks for posting it all up!

Thanks, steal away!

Very good looking bike and a nice job you have done on the build. It gives me a lot of ideas for my own bike, also a 77 cb750f, unfortunately mine was a bit of a hack job when i got it so almost finished bringing it back to life then on to the fun stuff. looking forward to seeing this 836 build, I want to see how the build goes and how it performs so keep us updated! And keep up the good work.

Thanks guys, I dropped the seat cowl and new side panels off for paint today. Hopefully I get this thing on the road before summer!

So the cowl is off to get painted and I now have all the needed parts for my motor. I had a chance yesterday to assemble the trans and get the cases put back together. I feel like I am now in a race with the weather here in Colorado, every day that it gets above 60 I start to panic a little.

Plastigauge was good

Cases together and gear shift drum/stopper assembled

Ready for top end!

Pistons and Cylinder on, waiting for my cam to get the head assembled

While waiting for my cam to get here I was able to get some of the other punch list items complete.

Koso digital speedo and tach installed with new custom dash(second time I've built this dash)

Suspension is complete.

Gazi Hyper Lite shocks

Race Tech Gold Valve emulators are now installed

Tarozzi fork brace to keep everything in line

I expect this bike to handle like a modern sport bike now...haha!

If anyone out there is interested in installing a Pingel fuel valve on their 77-78 CB750F please check out this thread:

Damn, it has been a long time since I updated this. Summer hits and I am so busy I cant get anything done! I have been breaking in the motor and working out all the kinks. I think I am pretty close though. I just started playing around with new exhaust. Here are a few pictures...

I put a Pingel Power-Flo fuel petcock on, it works awesome and looks really clean also

The bike is fully broken in now and that motor really screams! While on a Colorado 500 mile loop this summer I was riding with my buddy on a Aprilia Tuono. I could stay right on him up to about 95 then he would start pulling away.

While in Estes Park we had to get wood to our campsite...2 miles up a dirt road.

Your 750 looks great, Roland. The more I look at it the more I see all the small details that make the bike.

Just read through your entire build thread, looks great! hows it working with the passenger pegs in that location? Can a full grown person ride back there.
