1978 CB550 Pieces/Parts Hellride

A running condition CB650 engine appears to be a rarity. That said, I think I have something to work with, barring anything crazy on the inside of this one. I have 115 psi compression on 1/4, 155 psi on 3 and a dropped cylinder on 2 @ 60 psi. Why no compression remains to be seen.

Valves all set ok? I know you probably checked that but all it takes is one to be ever so slightly too tight and they will stay open just enough to piss away the compression.

Compression jumps to 155psi when I put oil in the cylinder.

OK, that means rings, maybe just stuck rings though if you are lucky.
I thought I said that. LOL. I know it's rings, but to what extent I don't know.

Had a similar nice surprise this morning on the '79 GL1000 that came home weekk before last. A Dyna 3 looking in good shape. Might swap it over to the Hunley next summer if the Ford TFI experiment I have planned doesn't work.

those are stock pulse generators for the cb650 sohc it uses the complete ignition and charging system for the dohc 750s and 900s and the same wiringharness

igniters and reg/rectifier

I just found this thread and had to subscribe. I really dig this project. You smell like butthole.

(Has to insert the customary insult into our thread conversations as per norm.)
