Hi All,

i joined this forum just after i picked up my first bike in april: https://www.dotheton.com/index.php?threads/hi-from-the-netherlands.77272/#post-937027

As a (classic) car guy dreaming of building a cafe racer for a few years, i got my motorcycle license in December 2019 and picked up my first bike in April:
A not very sexy but good running Honda Sevenfifty (european nighthawk).
it runs great and has done 64k kilometers, plus i bought it from the first owner

In stead of creating a cafe racer out of it right away, i chose to make some subtile changes and enjoy it for a couple of months.

I immediately removed the ugly windscreen and suitcases, and replaced the indicators and mirros to male it look a bit more lean and mean

Good thinking, enjoy the bike and learn what you really want to do with it!

Thanks all!

last week i really started the project, by removing the rear fender and airbox to install some nice looking Uni Pk92 Pod filters
( i did overhaul and rejet the carburetors first ofcourse)

I fired it up this morning to check how it runs this morning and it started running pretty good rightaway! Very happy with that!

i spent the rest of the day taking it stripping it further down and making some parts shine again. Next week it will be time to do some cutting!

The effect of playing outside for 21 years vs the result of 5 hours of wet sanding. Hell of a job but im really happy with the difference on my valve cover

Good progress, engine looks smart in half black.

i’m just doing a top end rebuild on a 1980 cb750 engine for a friend and we’ve been debating colour scheme
