400four, Dueling Banjos

My fancy pants with the inner tube trick nicely done!
Looking good man you're really going all out on this one I'm impressed

Damnit guys somebody has to tell me where I’m going wrong. I been polishing this for 2 days.

I stripped what finish it had left...then
spiral wheels, soft wheels, black, white, red.
I don’t know what to do, but this thing just looks like shit.
Please please help.

Do I need to wet sand? and start over?

Looks to me like you gotta sand that bugger. The grade of paper will really depend on the size and depth of the scratches you're trying to get out but maybe try a 600 or 800 grit and work your way up to 2000. What you don't want to do is make more work for yourself and start with too aggressive a grit than the scratches you have in the hub already. If the 800 gets them out then start there, then 1000, 1500, 2000 and then polish. You may even be able to shift those scratches with 1000 grit to start off, hard to tell.

Once you get to 2000 then polish with the white polish (on a dedicated wheel), then red (again on a dedicated wheel - this way you don't contaminate the red wheel with the coarser white polish), then Autosol (or Simichrome) on a soft buffing wheel. It's work, so get some beers in too.

Edit - looking at that vid again those scratches are pretty fine. Maybe try starting with 800, or even 1000. I'm sure you know this but essentially what you're doing is removing the existing scratches with the sandpaper, and then removing those scratches from the sandpaper with the next grade up and so on. Also, you want to make sure that your polishing wheels are not coarse and have no debris in them, and are trimmed so that the polishing surface is clean with no lengths of cotton sticking out. You also may need a buffing wheel on your dremel to get into the tight spots along the ribs.

I learned that a wool felt wheel cuts much faster to get to the finish part. I use rouge on it. Stinks like s sheep barn if you get it too hot, though.

I won the battle.
Starting from scratch wet sanding 320-1500grit
The the loose wheel w white and high pressure.

Looks great - if I never sand aluminium again it’ll be too soon

I see you sorted it, when really bad you always need to start with a progressive wetsand before the wheels.

I just had an incident concerning a part I purchased from 2fastmoto on eBay...

Yes, I am past on the 30 day return period. AND, I didn't not ask for a return OR refund. Simply an exchange.

I just now opened the sealed box, so parts were still in original packaging just like it had been received this morning.

Not only would he not make good on it. Dude literally made it out to be a problem w me and on my end.

As I promised him, Any good word or mouth advertising I have given him will stop today and the opposite will begin.

Thus, 2fastmoto an eBay seller is a complete POS. Do not do any business w 2fastmoto.

I've used them for cheap-china parts but never anything of value. I can always get the stuff he's carrying from AliExpress or someone else on Amazon. No loss not using him.

That sucks, not sure I've ever used them. but I'll avoid now.
And you know I know the rules and I was fine with it all that. And let him know that.
Until he insinuated its my fault because I dont know what kind of motorcycle Im trying to install this fender on.
Or maybe Im just incapable of fitting a fender.
Thats when I got mad.
