Got them from this outfit: https://www.facebook.com/dubdesignworkz/

I'd really love a Micron alloy billet fork brace, but at around £80-100 I have other areas to spend my hard earned....so, I plan to run a front guard....can't be doing with facefuls of dirt/shit etc, while at the same time the forks do need something to tie them together.
I found the old CBX front mount metal arch....I'd already cut off the original mounting holes to use on the CBX, but had a look at maybe bashing the rest of the arch into a fork brace and guard mount.

Phase1 - cut it down and attempt a bent curve that would fit......getting there. I need my big heavy engineering vice which is at my unit....so I'm struggling to bend the curve and mounting tabs correctly.

I'm also planning to use the CBX front guard, the profile matches the seat unit although it'll be cut down a touch and satin blacked to hide it.

I think I can bash both into shape....more anon. :)

HD clamps came in.....got to trim the spigot extension and clamp it in place, tricky as the circular cut angle moved as the exhaust moved inwards.....trimmed it best I can (still with my bench sander out of action!) with my angle grinder and a file....sits snug....got to find some extra long 120mm springs or double up short springs to hold it on.

I'm hoping this will be a temp fix, to run it up but will look to get it tig'd at some point.

Happy with the way the exhaust hangs, the rear silencer is above the axle line to all good there.....no need to cut n shut that up a bit. And, I have rear brake pedal operating clearance too.

A sneak preview of the seat material...ssshhh.

PS Tank's been vapored and looking ace....more soon.

That came out great
Yeah, thanx...my mate said it was in good shape too...no visible holes, the rust present was surface only. I will test it to be sure, but have high expectations it'll be OK.

Seat pad just dropped off at the trimmers.... :)

Brake caliper parts have arrived.

Getting closer to finished now.
Ah well, it appears that way (and to some extent that's true), but going through the job list in my head there's a lot still to do. Need to break out the welder soon....got a few jobs for it lined up. :)

Phase2....arch bashed into some shape, still needs work, but the concept just might work out.

Looking to hang the guard under the brace, I need the final tyre on the wheel...but I need the wheel blasting and powder coating, so for now I'll leave it as is.

The guard will be cut down and probably painted satin black as I want to hide it.

The pad spring clip arrived, so got the pads loaded in the calipers...ready to bleed now :)

This could be the first time in over 20 years this bike has working brakes.

Nice. I like the guard. I need to shrink mine on the GL and will mount to the brace the same way when I get to it. Those brakes look like they should stop the bike pretty damn well as it won't way all that much.
