2x stroke street tracker - project coming together slowly.

..ish.

It'll flat down, I have to fill the minor dents. I'll just be using Isopon P38 on a well scratched surface.
Couldn't resist setting it up...

The OEM headlight surround arrived, from David Silver, and I managed to fit the H4 Koito headlamp bowl to the rim.

Nice bright looking bowl and glass and H4 power should be good to get me home, when I stay out late at the coffee shop ;)

The OEM replacement tank cap seal also arrived.....the old one was perished and the new one a fiddle to get in place, there's a thin and thick side to the lip....got it on soon enough though.

The cap shined up nice enough too.

Still meddling with the guard and mocking up the forward length...this is critical in my book. Trying to mimic the shapes of the bodywork in the cut of the front edge.....sort of matches the rear of the seat unit and headlight cowl too.

I think it's working :)

Spoke to powdercoater, popping in to view the shades of white he has....I'll choose a RAL number and my painter will match the bodywork to the wheels.....thinking not a diamond/artic white but maybe one shade down....I'll see on Monday :)

You'll sort it I'm sure. How well will the charging system handle the h4? Or is it h4 equivelant led?

Ha, I know Sparkmoto has a good one with no fan but a heat sink. Should be small enough shipping shouldn't kill you on it. I ordered mine off ebay just before he started selling them. I checked my history it was $17.99 USD and no longer available LOL.

I asked on a facebook group and got mainly 'avoid' suggestions, but I've ordered a £6 ($8) item that did get a good review from a multi user...we'll see.

In the meantime, not wanting to get into fibreglassing today, I made some much needed, essential, can't do without...vents in the side panels. I'm so worried about the battery and electrics overheating I thought extra 'forced air' would help ;)

Satin can look great. My son's new helmet is a satin white / satin black and I really like it. I want to steal it actually.

I attempted a dark chocolate brown satin sheen finish on the Beetle, but hardener in the 2pack gave a slight satin lustre which has polished over the years, I only hard wax it once a year, but it's full on gloss shiny now. I'll ask my pro painter mate.... :)

I would think with a satin paint you wouldn't want to wax or polish it. Matte clear also would be needed for sure.
