2x stroke street tracker - project coming together slowly.

I recently raided the missus' sieve drawer too - figured it was easier to ask for forgiveness than to get permission. Figured wrong.

Looking great, really like how your bike is shaping up and the design choices you're making. I agree with maritime - looks like it'll be a riot to ride

I'm sorry if its in your post, but what is your headlight from?
It's a CD175 headlight cowl, I've used the speedo and headlamp, but upgraded the bowl to a Koito H4 unit.

Just made the 3mm ally tabs mounted on stainless P clips....looks OK to me.

The oil tank breather arrives and slots on a treat.

Filled the few dents with P38 and coated it with etch.....that'll do. Off to paint this weekend I hope.

While I was rubbing down, I took care to round the raw edges of the fibreglass seat unit, I see all to often, nice paint but rough edge....I'll ask my mate to pay particular attention and coat the edges well.

Thanks for checking in, Colin

Ha...kitchen utensils do come in handy. Thanks, I lay awake thinking about it. I hope it'll get to down the coffee shop a bit quicker than walking ;)

Quick update: A late delivery saw this new piece enter the fray....Micron alloy billet fork brace, cleaned up enough with new stainless allenhead fasteners and brake pipe tether, stainless P clip sandwiched in the clamp. That worked out well.

that brace is full on function, I'll take that look over perfectly pretty any day. You could polish it, or black it out and have it disappear if you don't like the style of it. Put the fender on with it and I think you'll like it more.

I like it, it's got a nice solid, secure look and I'm sure it'll stiffen things up for ya.

Thanx guys, yeah, it sure is solid and secure...liking the Micron going on with the bike...and yes, Maritime, I'll run a matt black fender guard but will probably keep the brace as it is.
I'll use the existing mounting lugs to secure the fender.

Thanx for checking in - Colin

Leftside proved a trial...until I decide to do it properly. Hung the rear and then cut a new spigot, which was almost straight. I had to hang the system outwards slightly more than the right-side, that altered the approach angle of the system and the shape/profile of the spigot. Pretty sure I've got it...but can tweek it if required.

Fitted up nice and the silencer ends will align with a bit of jiggery pokery.

I'm sure I can get them to poke at the same angle :)

So, thinking this through...it came to pass that the engine had to be mounted, so I can align the primary & drive sprocket....pleased say announce they line up just fine. Plenty of fine tune spacing, but the alignment is spot on.

This is the built engine that'll drive it.....wanted to know the space I have behind the carbs for filters....60-70mm would fit I reckon.

Getting the carbs onto the rubber intakes will be messy :/

NGK plug caps look smart.

To finalise the bodywork for paint, I had a niggly crack on the side panel, I hope to have fixed it by using an electric soldering iron/gun to melt and bond the crack together and then a pop rivet shaft, cut down and melted into the plastic will reinforce the crack and, hopefully, prevent it cracking again?

A skim of filler and it'll be good to go.

Oh yeah, fitted the petcock, OEM Honda part, and all is well. I rinsed the tankinner with water to remove more of the vapor blasting media and then poured a splash of paraffin in to check for leaks and rinse the water out as well as protecting the inner.

I got one of those cracks on one of the GL covers. I fix it and it comes back almost every season I haven't tried the melt fix. If your's holds I'll give it a shot.

If you can't make something happen with a bit of jiggery pokery, it's not worth happening in the first place :p

I suppose it depends on how you've fixed it? I had lots of suggestions, including fibreglassing it, araldite etc. The best I thought was to use a paperclip and melt that into the plastic with a soldering iron/gun...like I have with the pin.
It might be a weak point in the design, that saw them crack in the first place.

Today is trial wiring time.....I don't know what I need, but I think a fuse box would be a start...everything radiates off the fuses...battery feed then distributed out from there?
I wonder if there is a generic fuse box that can be used?....any suggestions chaps?
