2x stroke street tracker - project coming together slowly.

Whilst fiddling with the clutch/oil pump area I realised I'd not got the oil pump cable terminal thingy...so cut one out of an electrical connector block, drill a hole, cut a slot and it fits/works.

Holds firm and rotates....but, I've bottled it and ordered a genuine Suzuki piece from Fowlers....oil pump is too important to pander to my ego, head rulz in this case.

One final job before the tank etc goes off to paint, was to position the ignition switch (it's not switching the ignition) and liked this position.

Plodding through all the small, but important jobs....of which there's a lot. :)

I'm quietly confident the job will turn out good...Alex is out Aircooled VW club sprayer of choice. He work at paint correction at the local BMW Mini plant and has a spray-booth to do private work.

This is what I'm expecting...

isba win?? typo?

Car SOS is one of the few I enjoy, given that it is a TV show and the level of restoration detail is skimmed over, the access to specialist firms for trimming, exhausts, wheel and parts is good info and the diversity is interesting.....if only Tim wouldn't dick about with trick to get stuff cheap.....just ask the price, negotiate a deal for the exposure and get on with it FFS! :)

It looks like I/we might be making the extended throttle cable....it's a 1-3 set up and I need the single length another 3" longer. Andy, my neighbour has cable, nipples, conduit, in fact everything to sweat a new nipple on both ends using the correct solder.

Wheels are ready too.

Nice, yeah that's a phone typo LOL. was supposed to say is a win.
Haha...ah yes, that was my best effort of a rendition in MS Paint.....the fella in Moldova translated that Jackson Pollock into the cool, retro design I had in mind :)

Did I say the wheels are ready? ;)

Today the cable guy called.....turning the stock 1-3 cable into one 2" longer.....turned out right. Liking the Domino twister. Andy seated off the nipples and used lead solder on them. All cut to size and working well.

So, now I have a clutch, throttle and oil pump cables adjusted and routed.

I wonder if the reason some 2T owners say junk the factory oil pump citing unreliability, has anything to do with the pump syncronisation with the throttle slide position?

There's a simple, but important procedure to ensure the pump lever is aligned and synched with the throttle slide in a certain open position....any adjustment on the throttle cable must be correspended by a tweak on the oil cable too.....fail to do that and the oil pump may not be pumping enough oil for the throttle position? Just a thought?

I never really understood removing the stock pump either, if set up correctly they work perfectly (for a stock setup at least) and its much more convenient than running premix.

I'm having some heat siezing on Magoo's scooter I ported a bit and I bet I need to adjust the oil pump. Im going to try it and see if it helps. I keep jetting up but I bet its oil

I'm on the 2strokeworld forum and, as with other issues, there is a conflict going on about oil and oil pumps. Even certain types of oil raise eyebrows as to it's suitable usage.....racers stating one thing and builders contradicting them.....it's minefield of opinions and experiences.

The simple set up on the GT200 is aligning the throttle slider with the oil delivery lever, so oil is delivered to suit engine speed. On the GT the oil is delivered via two small bore 'jets' directly into the inlet in the head....a simple squirt when the engine is revved......so it could run on mix as there are no oilways just crank chamber emulsion.
I've not yet decided on what oils to run :/

I agree, and will run the pump. The big question now is.....what oil?? Arghhh...;)

Ha, his Hyosung has a pump and it feeds an inlet at the intake after the carb. I keep going up on the main jet and after it's fully warm it starts bogging and to get home I have to use some choke to make it run right so it's lean but I wonder if it's also not getting enough oil. The pump has a cam the pulls and allows more oil as rev's rise. I may adjust it tonight and see what happens.

Edit: I ported the intake to match a larger carb so more air may mean I need more oil than the stock setting on the pump.
