2x stroke street tracker - project coming together slowly.

Shed engineering:
I needed the footpeg pivot pins cutting down by 10mm with a new groove for the locator C clip.
Not wanting to wait a week for my tame turner to do it, I improvised...... employing my Lidl dremel for the groove duties and using my angle grinder and bench sander to cut & form the end of the pegs

.....turned out OK, they fit and will work as intended.

Hey if it works, it works. Look ok to me.
Thanx....All I have to do now is form a 2mm metal (alloy) tab to sit inside the U section to prop up the footpeg as it's sitting slightly off horizontal. It'll sit as a washer on the mounting hole. I'll show it when I've done it :)

Got a bit more done today, tank & fuel lines connected, seat unit fitted along with the ignition switch. I've have fresh fuel and looking to fire it up tomorrow and take it round the block on a shakedown run.....hopes!!

The seat looks like it doesn't sit down correctly, I've since fixed velcro and with my phat ass on the thing it'll sit tight in no time heheh!

My lad fixed one way diodes on indicator idiot light repeater and headlamp wiring/relays etc. Behind the headlamp cowl is a complete working wiring loom

It's maiden run around the block went well, very pleased that a random selection of parts fitted together well enough to actually perform as a motorcyckle.

I'm not sure how to load a video on here??

The oil splatter is from a build up in the exhaust spigots from when it refudsed to fire....hoping that will disperse with use.

Now to adjust the chain, remove 1x link, adjust clutch, sort handlebars (losing the Protaper pad but keeping the tie bar) Re-tighten all fixings and get a UK MOT as well as insurance etc.
Thanks for checking and sticking with my 5 year ramblings.

Looks like a fun ride! Don't expect the oil splatter to completely disappear. 2 strokes usually pass a little unburnt at various throttle settings.

Yeah, a sign that oil is present is not always a bad thing :) I'll see if the build up will dissapate and/or maybe use a smear of exhaust gunk on the spigot joint. Not a biggie and a badge of use tbh.

This looks fantastic!

Firstly, thank you all for your kind comments and appreciation....my humble build just might turn a few heads out there :) Nice to be recognised by my peers....if I can you all you guys that? :)

I think I may have solved the clutch release issue....I've fitted a longer/stronger return sping to the actuator lever, the clutch action and feel at the bar lever is so much more positive, especially on the release of the lever......just need to get it off the bench and road test

Thank you to all who posted with solutions and advice....I'm new to two strokes

This looks better, the new spring actually returns the arm.

In other news, I've shot some steel rattlecan over the bars and removed the padded crossbar....much better view and cleaner too. Me likey.

I had a thought to add a chain roller, so threw this together, not sure how long it will stay in place or even if it'll work. A single bolt and a shock absorber bush lined with silicon tube along the bolt and using the chainguard tab.

Also, had a minot issue with the headlamp cowl vibrating underway.....the rubber lined P clips I used were too large an i/d (36mm) on a 34mm stantion, so I replaced two easily enough, but the indicators are holding the top P clip and the entire wiring would need to be unpicked as the wires run through a hollow threaded stud....uhuh....I used a couple of headlamp mounting shims to pask out the larger clips to very good effect, I'm pleased to say the headlamp is now firm enough in place....job jobbed!!

Just the chain to shorten I reckon and another attempt at an MOT next week. More anon....
