540cc Honda 360 Engine

Video/pics with you draggin' a knee on this baby or it didn't happen! Very cool and unique build.

I would only echo one concern brought up before and that is placement of the footpegs. My thought is that during aggressive cornering over not so smooth pavement would force the rider to shift body weight, even if only a minute amount, because of movement in the swingarm and this in turn would upset handling and possibly cause you to go astray of your intended line. Just my .02.

Digging it more and more. Are you happy with throttle response with the carb setup so far?

Yes, pops reports that the carb setup is good so far. This is my dad's bike. I've just been doing the reporting on the progress and posting his pictures here for you all to enjoy.

As PJ mentioned it would be interesting to dyno the bike to tune it and to determine what the power is for comparison to a 360. As I mentioned before, we'll do a ride report at some point. When that will be I can't say just now, but hopefully it won't be too far off.

I'll ask pops if he can make a video of it running soon and I'll have him upload it to my youtube channel.

As soon as I can get some seat time I'll report on the peg placement also.

A dyno run with wide band gas analyser should pick up at least an extra 10~15% when things are set up right (or at least tell you where it's going rich/lean, etc)
The intakes will be very close to correct size for the increased displacement, they are too big for 360 motor (176cc per side)

Re: 540cc Honda 360 Engine - VIDEO

The video you've all been asking for:

http://youtu.be/Ae1lxC83mrU

Ride report: "I rode it around Tims track yesterday and was surprised and pleased at
how well it worked, can't go very fast on tight track however, motor
seems quite stout, lots of torque."

Hi. Great great job, I just discovered that thread few hours ago, looking on the web how much I could overbore my own 360... I thought "maybe it would be great to put 450 pistons and around 3mm bore. But what about the pistons height and so on... "

Then I found that post... I said "Shit!! That guy is not kidding! :-X  ;D"
Thanks for that 18 pages thread, I had to register to see that. Very instructive and fully pictured. ;D

I'm gonna search for a crank... 8)

I take my hat off to you sir. Deeply impressed by the engine build and it sounds great in the video. :)

I just now got to watch the video of the engine running. Sounds nice and mellow until you crack that throttle and then it sounds all business. Very cool!

I don't see any adjustment slots on the swing arm, how do you adjust the chain tension? From the front Heim joints?
