Hey, I can't do anything more than, finish what I've started, because if I don't, then and only then, I've failed.

its easiest to learn when you pass the point of no return (he muttered about himself)

Just starting and seeing what goes wrong along the way is the best way to learn, also makes sure there always is plenty of learning to be done.

just read through this whole thread...so much negative feedback! hahah oh man I am glad I didnt get this kind of introduction when I made my first post!

anyways, keep it up man do what you want and keep on learning! like some of the other guys have said, once you are riding this bike, who cares what was said on here!

ill follow this one to see how it turns out! and to chuckle at the onslaught of criticism...

Me thinks someone underestimated the arrogance of youth HA. HA. HA.

Nice bike, I remember when I took stuff apart first. Now I get it all the way I want it, disassemble and then begin the spit shine.

Make it yours man, as said "cb's" are a dime a dozen and unless you have a sand cast with 2 miles on it Jay Leno won't be calling.

RD

I have been following this thread for a while. I really like the polishing job that you have done on a lot of your parts. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the finished bike.

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't shown any progress in a while, but I'm glad to see that some people are still interested in the build. Winter has kept me cooped up inside the house, but thankfully I finally got out in the shop last week and started working on it again. New pics to come this week...

Steps for this month:
1. Finish the frame work- welding, grinding
2. Rebuild the forks- major leak on the left front
3. Make mounting bracket for headlight

Steps to completion:
1. Fabricate seat cowl & leather seat
2. Fabricate Tank
3. Powdercoat frame- Black
4. Re-assembly everything
5. Mount engine & configure electronics
6. Run Engine & test
7. Finish Exhaust
8. Tune Engine & Carbs

This is probably the last update I had.

Since I started working on the bike again, I had all winter to think about the build. I have decided that the current problem I was having with clearance issues with the exhaust could only be remedied with chopping the rear of the frame. Now this was actually what I had originally planned to do, (in my design drawing), but I was steering away from it. Also, in my original design I didn't have the undertail exhaust; so things change...

I don't believe I showed the battery/electrical pan...
I am keeping the front of the pan open; air circulation. Also, I kept everything to a tight fit, there is enough spacing for the seat pan to rest on the brackets with a heat shield underneath which rests on the battery casing.

Oh, and a little added bonus I had left over from by BMW S1000RR...

Enjoy ;D

I have the tail of the frame complete, I just need to clean it up with some grinding work.
I decided to recycle the old tail section, by allowing for the proper clearance I needed for the exhaust. I cut off about 3" of the old sections, and they were welded flush with outsides of the frame, which allowed about a 1/4" of extra clearance; and gave the tail about a 20° flip upward.

Sorry gentlemen for the inactivity with my project.... I am currently in the process moving haven't been able to work on the CB350. Once I get her moved in to the new garage, we will get this show on the road. More to come...

Fellow builders! I am back. Due to an extremely unfortunate hiatus, this build was left go.... I can't believe it's been a year since I've worked on her. Thankfully, I am back at my old shop and stoked to finish the build.
I hope in my absence you all have not lost interest. Stay tuned.

I have finished all the welding and grinding work on the frame over the past two days.
Fabricated/weld a stop plate for the center kickstand.
Reinforced welds at the steering dampener bracket.
Fabricated/weld a bracket for the stock gas tank.
Fabricated/weld rearset brackets, just need to shape up the corners yet.

Glad to hear your up & at it again ;) sounds like ya pulled the dust sheets off n got right back on with the iron horse :p look forward to your updates mate ;)
