I still think it's pretty incredible the stuff you have to know or learn to be a 'vintage motorcyclist' 8)

Im with ya bud. I know you been doing this your whole life.

But for my own experience. I been on these bikes 7-8 years, steady pace mod/resto 4 machines now. (not including 3 rounds on Cherry Bomb and now 2 on piglet). And I still feel like I know practically nothing about motorbikes. ;)

Even with 3 nominations and 1 win for BOTM

Its cool, fun, work and learning thats for sure 8)

Stuff you can buy and bolt on gives you a break from making things or making them fit ;D

The UPS man dropped off machine and fixin's just before I arrived home from work.

Starting around 6:30. Rach made me read owners manual, set knobs and dials, fill bobbin, thread machine, install needle and sewing foot.

She went inside house to start cooking bacon, eggs and pancakes. Checking on me when she got the chance.

Finished the sewing and test fit at 9:30.

Ill fit the gel pad and get it all together after work tonight.

I think it turned out pretty darn sweet for a greenhorn.

Thanks bud. I’m pretty pleased considering it’s my first sewing experience. I couldn’t be more delighted.

Haha nope, I wouldn’t call it fun. But it’s not so bad either.
Just an hour of prep for 10 minutes of sewing.
So, yeah the actual task of sewing is the easy part, the machine does 99% of the work.

Re: Piglet 2.0, 72-CL100-Going OFFFF THE GRID!

My Uncle John past away last night.

He’s the Uncle that gave me Piglet.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, did he like what you were doing with bike?
Kinda nice if he approved of the direction it was going

Thanks guys, Poor Guy was able to keep his mind but his body just fell apart. and no one should suffer, loss of mind or body.
And YES He did like Piglet. He loved this sort of stuff his whole life. 1970s, He and John Jr built and raced AWESOME Micro midget cars.
I will ask John jr to send some pics.
I wish he could've seen Piglet finished this time round. Dude woulda flipped.
But sometimes this is how it works.
Thanks again for your thoughts.

Re: Piglet 2.0, 72-CL100-Going OFFFF THE GRID!

Being a little heartbroken I left work after lunch and got busy...

Hit seams and little loose thread ends w white leather and fabric glue.

Spray glued and re-used the old piece of thin foam backing.

Cut and removed foam, Gel squished and tied to fit.

Stretched over the "Stabber" points. Cut and slipped strings out.

I coulda, shoulda, woulda doubled up vinyl on the sides. The gel pad is causing some lumpiness but it will be fine "As Is"
