'77 BMW R100S - Refresh

It's a seller, right? Whoever buys that's gonna be one proud mofo.

No, for now it’s a keeper. I’ve got a few buddies that are Airheads and have several /2,/6,/7, S/RS/GS bikes... so I’m planning to get some airhead riding in with them and be able to participate in some airhead events and show this puppy off. But yeah... I’m a proud mofo for how well it cleaned up and how quickly I was able to turn it around... the painter getting it turned around in just a few weeks when I was expecting a couple of months was a big motivator to wrap it up quick.

Oh, a shot with the bags on too.

My man, righteous

Truly gorgeous! I've spent the past two months freshening my 1982 R100T (naked bike with bags only), acquired late last summer from a friend with serious health issues. I have a long acquaintance with airheads, and they are great bikes. You've done yours proud! Mine's nice, but doesn't compare.

EEEWWWW... That's gross... but nothing carb dip and an ultrasonic cleaner can't clear up.

Capital Cycle has a great carb kit for cheap https://www.capitalcycle.com/Overhaul-Kits_c_2512.html

Tom Cutter assembles a good kit too... he works via email, just explain your needs, and is super reliable and priced nice: RubberChickenRacing@gmail.com

Thanks a lot for this info, but fortunately i´ve already rebuilt these carbs. I was trying to console you that some have it worse :D

Very nice bike.

I replaced my CV Bings with Mikuni VM32's a while back. Nothing wrong with the Bings - just was on a Mikuni kick and wanted to try them. Not sure if they're really any better, but at least I don't have diaphragms to worry about.

Luckily, for whatever reason, Bing diaphragms are pretty cheap and are pretty durable. Unlike some of the Japanese bikes.

My buddy has an R90S with Dellorto slide carbs. it runs very nice. I'd assume the Mikunis are nice and responsive.

I had to redo my front brake lines, one of the fittings split open and the front brakes went flat... luckily in my driveway. I was having a little trouble syncing the carbs as the left was hunting around a bit. I was able to narrow that down to the butterfly alignment on the left carb so now that it’s getting warm this bike is ready to ride.
