Just acquired this baby. Was going to do a complete paint job but fell in love the original color. I'm thinking of keeping that stock and just add a Dunstall quarter fairing (same color), clip-ons and New MAC exhaust (black) to give it a throaty sound.
Just confirmation, 35mm clip-ons is the correct size for the CB550, correct? Thanks.
Howdy Canyon, I'm a shorty (5'7") so hopefully won't be too bad. I got the clip-ons but thinking I should have gone with clubmans. Any differences between the two? Any preferences between the two....from experience?
Got the MAC exhaust on. Had an interesting time figuring out the metal sleeves that went under the collar but in the end got them on. Need to pay more attention.

Clip ons can give you a bit more adjustability of the bar angles, I've ridden both, overall, I'd choose clipons. Just ride the heck out of it, looks like a fun bike.
Thought about it. Overall good shape I would say. Just some black pitting. They work just fine but not going for too much chrome on this build. I may post some pics and see what y'all think
Installed new pipes and took it for a run. Ran great. I know it had an idling problem where it would die out but it has not for me today. Only thing is that it idles good (1100rpm) but when I rev it up, it stays idling high (3000rpm). I'm thinking this could be a jet issue due to different pipes. Hope y'all can view the video below
It's Christmas!!!!!! Just received the Air-Tech Dunstall Fairing. Bike has carbs out now for cleaning. Will be getting the fairing painted same Candy Sword Blue with a little of the gold trim. Don't know design of trim yet. While the fairing is out being painted, I will be installing the clubman bars. I will re-evaluate the look and move on.
