I think your seat shows really nice attention to detail. It's small, quality items like that that make bikes like yours stand out from the other run-of-the-mill builds. Good stuff!

I dont know whats wrong with the seat, I think its sweet and the silver and white is original and classy. And I think your headlight bucket should be silver, but thats just me. Good looking bike!

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I am really leaning toward silver with a chrome ring for my headlight. I want to keep it simple. I was going to go with black for the seat but I really wanted to be different plus I really felt it gave my bike the more vintage custom feel. I guess that's what great about building these old bikes for ourselves......we get to make them exactly how we want to.

I'm just busting on you. :) We are all entitled to our opinion. Thanks for checking out my build.

I hate your seat. Actually I just do not like the color. Everything else about your scoot I just love. Really nice job.

What a troll. Guy pooped out of no where and just slays your hard work.

So give us a run down on what is left for you to do?
Also i have a kz 400 do you have any spare cylinder jugs, reusable valves,or a spare piston laying around?
Cheers

I have one too ('74), but it's a project for down the road. After following at this thread, I can't wait to get my hands on it.

i'm curious about the bike you use as your avatar...it's pretty sweet...what is it

List of things to do:

1) Build wiring harness.
2) Install harness
3) Build and install rear turn signal bracket.
4) Paint Headlight bucket/tank emblems
5) Install Front brake caliper/rebuild master cylinder
6) Fab some sort of a front fender
7) get a new chain/sprocket
8) Fuel Lines
9) finish wrapping exhaust
10) A few other bits and pieces to install/hook up

As far as spare parts I dont have any engine parts. Wish I could help you out.

Tonight I ordered my ss brake line and banjo fittings and a master cylinder rebuild kit. My banjo bolt pressure switch was delivered today as well. One step closer to completion. I hope to have time to work on things this weekend.

Thats funny, I worked on my brake switch today also.

I went with silver and red on the headlight. Thanks for all the input (votes) guys, The number on the edge of the headlight bucket is my Grandfathers ship number. He was a machinist in the Navy. He was on Destroyer Escort DE343 in WWII. I wish he was here to see my bike. I used his machines and tools to build everything on this bike. I made the front fender from the stock fender. The emblem are off the stock KZ400 tank. As soon as the clear cures these parts will be going on the bike. That is the last of sanding and painting for this project....YIPPPY!
