Read online that adding an oil cooler to this bike is pretty simple. I read somewhere that you can eBay GPZ 750 oil plan and cooler and the bolts will fit directly.
Yes it is. I have one on one of my bikes. Bolts right on.
Only difference is what is showing in the pic. The cooler,
lines and oil sump are shown. But there is also 2 o-rings
that seal the lines to the sump.
My preference for Kawasaki keeps growing stronger when I see things like this. Kawasaki takes a design that already works and just improves on it. As a result, these two Oil Sumps are almost exactly identical except the 84 GPZ750 Oil Sump has oil cooler mounts. Separated by 5 years, this GPZ oil sump makes it super easy to add an oil cooler modification to my 79 KZ650
Progress is slow this time of year but I learned how to remove and install a new bearing the other day. My brother showed me to heat the case around the bearing with a torch. Then we knocked it out with a socket that fit the exact size of the bearing.
Greased up the new bearing and case diameter. Headed the case up again then carefully tapped in the new bearing with the socket. This one went in strait as an arrow.
Side note: get this socket organizer from lowes. Husky made. It's metal, has a handle and holds your socket really well. I love it.
Plastic repair using a soldering iron. This piece had a giant crack through it. I pushed the broken seams together and melted the nearby plastic in a back and forth motion to seal the crack.
