82 Cb900f oil/start questions

So I’ll be honest I accidentally overheated my 1982 Honda cb900f not badly but enough the oil smelled slightly burnt so I changed the oil and when I did I saw like a metallic tint in the drained oil no obvious slaked or chunks of metal but I started it up after and seems to run fine should I be concerned? Also when I press my starter the bike starts but I am getting this loud squeaking noise for a few seconds as the bike starts up but it does start and idle I’m assuming this is a totally different issue and a starter issue?

More than likely the squealing is a normal CB900 starter ramp problem. The rollers inside starter clutch wear grooves into the reduction gear hub and inside of the ramps. It was a very common problem after 2~3 years, worse on bikes used for short rides (starter got used more frequently and wore out one way clutch faster. I have no clue how many I did in the 80's, (a lot for about 3 years)

if you are worried do a oil analysis then do the r6 starter clutch mod and end the starter clutch issue easy to do

Late model sprag clutch for starter is a great idea. No idea how someone found out it fits but it should make the starter pretty bulletproof.
It isn't a good idea to 'torque later' as the threadlock will set and give a false reading
