Envious as well. You doing that tank with a MIG?

TIG. Oddly enough I've found TIG welding aluminium easier than TIG welding steel. I've learned a lot about TIG welding steel while welding this tank. I think I'd be able to do a much better job next time.

I got a couple K&Ns, some silicone couplers, and some aluminum tubing to build a new intake track.

What are you pounding that on? I found an old stump to work relatively well depending upon the shape you are trying to make. It has just enough give, and doesn't make marks on the metal.

11" leather bean bag filled with steel shot.

Nice skills and shop you've got there! Not sure about the tank, it looks to short/small now i think?

Now i'm even MORE jealous! You have all the stuff I wish I did! haha, I agree the tank might be a tad small looking now. This is cool though. 8)

I bought a bunch of exhaust bends

and I had some appropriate pipes laying around the shop

Now it's time to do a lot of welding/fitting.

You know what's awesome about this. You update it every day! I'm waiting on winter for that.... ;)

Pipes are cool, where did you end up getting them from? And did you keep the original header and just cut it, or is that an all new one?

Some of the bends I had laying around. Most of them were from a 1-3/4" J bend kit that I think I got from Summit Racing. I removed the sleeve from the stock headers that the exhaust flange tightens against and I welded it to the pipes I made.

That exhaust is beautiful, bike is shaping up real nice! I'm horribly envious of your skills and tools though!
