91 CB250 won't start

Do No Harm. Do Know Harm.
I have a 1991 CB250N that is giving me hell at the moment. It didn't run when I bought it, I replaced the CDI and it fired right up. Ran for a good 7 months, and now after the battery died on me, its like its not getting a spark. I have a spark tester that barely lights up when the engine is cranked. With a spark plug to ground, it makes a very weak, small spark.

I'm thinking it's the CDI again because I cranked it when the battery was too low and I know that can ruin it.

Any other suggestions?

I'm assuming new battery is already in place?

Check all your connections and ensure a good ground. If you can, swap out the coil for one from another bike and see how it does. Fresh plugs sometimes help, too. After you do all that, then you can try a new CDI unit. Because electronic ignitions tend to be fairly reliable, I try to only replace as a last resort.

Yeah some pertinant info i left out there. Battery is good, I had just cranked it too much prior to starting it. But tried another and it's good. I've been checking out the connections and they seem good.

Stuck on another coil last night, no dice. And with the plugs, even a brand new one I was testing to see if I could get a visible spark wasn't sparking satisfactory.

I've read a lot that this particular 250 is notorious for eating CDI's for lunch if they are cranked with low voltage or jumped.

Yeah hopin' I wouldn't have to but after reading what I wrote even I am convinced its the CDI now,
