I like your first headlight set up too - maybe if you could disguise the reg/rec a bit with a mesh air filter...

I think that would look rad
Yeah rad... OR it would look like he's heading off to go to fencing classes!

Yeah that's probably killed that idea :D

Unless of course fencing's your thing. Weirdly it was once for me, I got quite good. Beat the UK defending champion. I know. Weird.

Envious! I always thought it was pretty cool. I grew up in the sticks, though. A buddy of mine once told me we could get paid to do some fencing. I was disappointed to learn that it involved wooden posts and barbed wire. True story.
(Sorry Levi.)

I think it feeling tiny and light is just par for the course Levi. Mine feels like a bicycle with an engine sometimes. This thing is looking good though. You’ve got some real craftsmanship going on here.

Well, I for one like it, but I am into the 'brutalist' style

I still kinda like it, just not really for this bike. I'll save it for a future endeavor, just not this bike. Im digging this klt200 headlight for now. Still a single round headlight, but a little "out of the box" with that shroud.

I modified the stock dr650 front motor mounts into a rear brake stay. Simple, clean and most importantly cheap.

Appreciate the kind words gentleman.

Messed with the headlight a little bit more. I cut the ears off and sanded them into roughly the shape that it will be. I still have a little bit more finishing to do on that. A friend suggested that I dropped the whole assembly down a little bit to try and match the lines of the tank a little bit better, and he was right. Made up a simple bracket and spacer for the bottom mount what she utilizes the original Rd 350 brake line splitter mounts. Still have to figure out the best way to go about the top mounts.

Yep. looks rad. new or painted side hardware will help too.
It'll get new stainless hardware for sure. Once everything gets broke down for finishing, I will be replacing all the hardware with new shiny stuff throughout.

Seems to need a more angular tank, now. I had a Penton back in the 70s that had the perfect tank shape for it. Not I don't love the tank on it.

I would love a penton tank for it, but I'm invested at this point in that tank. I'd have to swap out the headlight before i do the tank.

I like that too, good call dropping the headlight a few inches. Really like the rear brake stay too - this is bike building.

I modified the headpipe by cutting and spinning the end up. It really lended itself to being a straight high pipe fairly easily. Right now the emgo is just a mockup, but a friend is sending me a shorty reverse cone that I think will fit the bill much better.
