"A Bird in the Hand" take 2. DR650 Deadtail Bobber, now with a sidecar

You may be pleasantly surprised when it's sat and cured for a while. I used a bunch of that stuff in that color and always found it very forgiving and easy to work with. I always found that it settled in well and areas that seemed a little questionable right after spraying seemed to disappear after it had cured out.

I used the "stainless" appliance paint on my CL360 wheel hubs. For some odd reason it is hard to find in Georgia.

@ridesolo gave me the lead on where to find this. It's by his house next town over. To compound it not being a common stock anyways, I guess there is a spray can shortage. Or that's what I was told by the Menards paint manager. This is about how the shelves looked everywhere I went..

Maybe? Though I saw no price increases, just empty shelves.

"Spray can shortage" = We want to jack our prices up
Today I was in the store where Levi found those two cans... about the only empty shelf there was the one he emptied buying those two cans. Looks like if other stores are having trouble getting spray bombs they need to talk w/ the buyer for the ACE hardware outfit, they've got lots.

Ace my have gotten the last container before they stopped coming LOL. I paid 3X the standard shipping for Logistics bars to get them on a boat and to us for our operations. Only added $1 to each bar but it was an extra $16K over normal cost.

Thanks John!

Tiny update, but I got to use my new to me mill to make a rotor adapter. The original one I made utilized a stock dr650 front caliper. On the specific rotor I'm using, the DR pads only engaged 2/3 of the rotor. I ended up using a tokico caliper off of a ninja, which should engage the full rotor.

I picked up a rad cr250m aluminum tank at Barber. Its mostly the same shape as the cr125m (steel) tank that I've been using so far, and will mount with a re done rear mount.

The alloy 250m tank has become almost unattainable (at least for any price that I could swing) so I couldn't pass this one up for $100, even if it does have a few dents on the left side to work out. I plan to get it pretty straight, which may not be the easiest task, then run it with a lightly brushed finish, with the aluminum rear fender finished to match. I may also build an aluminum front cowl/headlight to complete the theme as well.

Yup. I kinna like the orange, too. How about cleaning and sprucing up the alu bits liek yousaid then PC the frame in a similar orange? Black would be SOOOO boring!

Wonder if bigger dents can be popped from aluminum with the hot glue trick? Not any big ones that are shown in this one, though. This is gonna be great!

Worth a try.... I've got one of those from HF, Levi, you're welcome to use it. I pulled out a bunch of dings in the 500T tank on the Hedgehog.

I don't know that I'll go orange on the frame, though that's an interesting thought. I won't be painting it black though, that's decided.
