Hi DTT forum, I'm an 18 year old from wiscanson and just like you guys, im into old bikes. Mainly cause I work for what I own, daddy doesnt write checks for me. I know what ownership pride is! I can't afford the current crotch rockets, what more mod them to my taste. So I'm into the old CBs specifically, I got a barn find 76 cb200 with 3k miles, keeping that stock as a survivor. my friends got a 78 cb750 I'm building into a comfort oriented 2 up cafe hybrid thing. I plan to make a 1 piece fiberglass body that matches the tank contours and then transforms into a modern rear end with step up rider seat. that will start pretty soon actually. I digress. Last year in June I started this bike, its a Honda CB350G (1973). I bought it from a friend who beat the piss out of it as a dirtbike, laid it over plenty of times, and hot wired the shit out of the electrical. He also ran it on 1 cylinder for quite some time. so this is what i picked up for $275:
After alot of trial and error taking me from june until march this year. This is kind of a time lapse of what I've done and what it morphed into
Got rid of my sheet metal butt stop attempt
What it is now. I currently have 1500 miles on it so far. Love the thing to death. Being a twin this thing has a bit of vibration in the bars, I can't ride for more than an hour at a time. But who does anyways? I need to replace the clutch springs, but I ordered new plates cause why would I pull it apart again in the next 3k miles? The fastest I've gone was 90, but that was a mistake and a combination between wind hills and unattentiveness to the dials. one of these days I'll hit the ton, the bike can do it!
