I'm here to meet riders in my area and to use this forum and a resource for all of my questions regarding my projects

Peace

The cafe/retro scene is huge in Chicago!!.. I hope that you are gonna go to the mods vs. Rockers meet this week.!!

Cheers

I'm defintely going to be at the mods vs. rockers meet this weekend. I've been looking forward to it all summer so far. I'm bringing my dad to because he's always love older brit bikes. He still kicks himself for not holding onto all of his old BSA when he was a teenager.

Your're going to cafe your CL350? It's too nice for that. If it was mine I'd go for a stock restoration. It's better to cafe a junker in my books.

\pics later tonight I promise\
On the boards here, SOHC4.net, and DucatiMonster.org (I like to learn all I can before I buy ;D)

Went to Rockers Vs. Mods last year (left before the rain ride) with the bike and the year before just to look.
I've seen a couple of you around I think. I know I saw Proteals CB350 blasting Lake Shore last fall with a Kawasaki. I was on my buddy's GS1100 and he was on my CB750.

Anyway, see you guys around come warmer weather. I will start heading up to Cobra lounge with the bike (it's only a few blocks away).

Hey Jerrad,

As I said above, 2008 is gonna be a action packed riding season (city wise).
Half Fast's next event is going to be a Spring dust off/scvanger hunt ride deal
come early to mid April. I will post more solid info once we figure out the details.
Who wants to ride their bike to a show and park it after a long winter, when you can
be RIDING it ?

Keep in touch...

Adam,

Good to see ya "checking in"..
Look forward to meeting/riding with ya come nice weather...

Yeah, I'm also looking for another cheap project bike for my girlfriend. The plan is to do a bobber--red powdercoated rims, flat black paint, whitewalls, tractor seat, maybe some pinstriping down the road... you get the idea. If you know of any good candidates, give me a shout.

Sounds like you wanna build something along the lines of this ?

Pete's bike (member of Half Fast)...

I'd love to build the XS version of this (even though it's been done 1000 times - I'm more than willing to be #1001).

Great bike - Relay the message to Pete then I suppose :D

That's along the lines of my next project (in my head anyhow) but I'm not sure I'd go hard tail. I have concerns about getting the resulting bike safetied and insured for street use.

I will also be working on a bobber this spring, here is a pic of what I would like for it to look like:

Thats a great looking scoot, which I plan to have my next project looking something like as well...

Hello everyone,

Just posted my intro in the main intro forum. As I said I'm a native Chicagoan, 22 yrs old. I've been into the rock n' roll scene for a few years here in Chicago but never knew about this cafe/rockers scene. Been to most of the bars I see mentioned here and on related websites but I guess it was never on bike night. I saw some clean lookin' trumps at the Beat Kitchen last summer for a band called the Gore Gore Girls. Any DTT members?
I got my first bike in October while going to school in Ohio. A '73 CB 350F. I'll be graduating in May and then I can start the planned cafe makeover. Love to catch some of you cats at a pub some night and try to learn something.
As far as location, it's a bit up in the air right now, but likely to be north or near south side of the city starting in May.

Cheers
