Another Ace owner

  I thought I should finally post here as I've been reading through this section for a couple of week now and I must say that the Information on here has been extremely helpful, I got my ace just over two weeks ago now and I have only put about 200K's on the clock, I check the Valve clearances around the 100K mark and all was good. I also put an order in at OORacing for a few basic mods here's what I've done so far,
  • Upgraded CDI
    
  • NGK Iridium Spark Plug
    
  • EBC Brake pads & Shoes
    
  • 34 tooth Rear sprocket & Gold Chain ha
    
  • Molkt Carburetor with a velocity stack
    
  • Full stainless steel exhaust from OOracing
    
  • Clips on and bar end mirrors
  
  Also removed all the Nasty EGR stuff.
  
  and a pair of M45 tyres on the way.

Hi Ned,

Nice mods! - I see you have the 00racing s/s header + performance silencer setup. I went for the same thing.

Have you tried to dampen the noise a little (sounds to me to be a little tinny at higher RPM's) but love the deep bass at idle.

ALso, with the sprocket, did it make much of a difference ? (mid range torque or just top end speed ?).

In addition to Liam in Freo, there is carter the red in Perth and ci_mark from parts unknown. Being the home of the Oz distributor of the 'Ace', I imagine WA probably harbours quite a few others.

yep, I'm usually hanging around Vic Park way, seen one or two on the road now, and a couple in the local bike shop having work done!

I have notice that as well, as for dampening, this is all that I have tried so far,

it work for a while until the compression blew it out! ha

As for the sprocket, the engine does feel a lot better mid range but I haven't had the bike over 90km/h as the engine hasn't loosened up yet.

Hey Carter that's awesome, I got my ace from the bike shop in Vic Park, I'm near to Curtain uni so I'm not far.
