Anyone else have trouble getting gaskets off intake manifold?

So I just got some newish intake manifold rubbers for my CL350, problem is that the old gasket is damn near impossible to get off. I'm using a razor blade now, but I don't eant to chew up the rubber underneath.

Anyone know a good technique for getting these stubborn bastards off?

Thanks

If its just the gasket stuck to the aluminum I have had success with spray gasket remover. Some parts stores might have it and I know mcmaster-carr has it. Stuff is strong so be careful where you spray it.

I used my pistol grip die grinder with some very fine 3m roloc pads the grey ones. They work great!

A small bristle wire brush on a low power drill works wonders on gasket surfaces.

Maybe I'm being a dumbass...but the gasket is actually stuck on the rubber boot. Not sure if I'm supposed to remove it or not but it was a little chewed up....I don't know if I'd want to hit this with a wire wheel or brush.

Did you ever sort this out? I'm having the same issue.
