I'm about to paint my frame and was looking for the most durable looking paint, came across engine spray paint that you let dry and then cure by baking it at 200 degrees. I have a heavy duty heat gun that would do the job but was wondering if it is anymore durable or worth it at all.

Anyone try this?

Appliance epoxy paint is pretty tough, so is just a bunch of coats of good quality rattle can.

A far as the engine paint, it works great I've used it on several engines and so far I am very happy with it. Then again I can bake the engine parts in an oven or a BBQ grill. Getting even heat with a heat gun enough to cure the paint with out burning it might be an issue.

Bought a can of the flat black engine paint that cures with heat, followed instructions as best I could and I have to admit the paint looks great, it cured to a hard shell that looks durable.

The only problem that the color isnt exactly black, compared to the rest of the bike it looks a little on the grey side, figured I'd keep it as a solid undercoat and put 1 layer of black wheel paint on it to match. Worth experimenting but I wouldnt recommend it.
