DAMN! And it's street legal too. Way better than running out and buying the latest plastic Corvette or Viper.

Sure Why not... Should we split on the insurance as well??.. LOL!!
We can paint it black and put the DTT logo on it... ;D

I had the honor if running an original one of these through Tech Inspection at Road America a few years back. I guess there are only five real ones in the world. I sounded fantastic.

Tim, that car is PURE SEX!!! I'd take that over ANY modern production car. Price tag is still cheaper than a house!!! Lets go!! I'll clear out the garage tonight and we can store it in there. I have a little cabinet for the keys too. ;D

$65K.. I think that's a pretty fair number.. I was actually expecting it to be much more.
Just to order the complete kit is about $23K, but you still need to provide your Engine, Tranny, Wheels, Tires, & Paint. Not to mention you and other's labor.

This owner looks to have done it right too. Halibrand Wheels are about $500 each & the Tremec tranny is another $2,000, so I'm betting he didn't cut too many corners.

I'll take two please! ;D

I am also a huge fan of the original Shelby cars... one day I hope to put one in my garage, even if it is just a licenced copy like Factory 5 or Superformance. The Daytona ranks high up there in the top 10 coolest cars of all time. The only Shelby Cobra that is rarer that I can remember ATM is the Cobra Dragonsnake, of which there were only two built. I think there were actually 6 real Daytona's built, TDC, but I could be mistaken. Either way, I am super-evnvious that you actually got to hear/see one of the originals in the metal. Damn cool.

Interesting fact: in the early 90's, I think it was Road & Track magazine that did a comparo of modern (at the time) sports cars. They threw in an original 60's cobra 427 as well, and guess who was fastest, beating out a Porsche 911?
