I hope you weren't offended by my asking if you had anything else to do. I am just impressed with the cleanliness of your bike given its use. Nicely done!

Oh no - I didn't take it that way at all. You're right though - I do spend quite a bit of time poring over it, stepping back, seeing how it could be tweaked, making sure that it's nice and clean, seeing if there's any detail that could be changed, refined etc etc. It is almost another full-time job!

Thanks again for the recognition -- definitely appreciated.

Just reminding everyone that voting closes in less that a week! So if you have not cast your vote yet, then get off your sorry ass and go to the top of this page and "ROCK THE VOTE" for your favorite bike.

The three year goal is to retrace Robert Pirsig's (Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance) trip he did on his '64 SuperHawk back in 1968. Hopefully that plan will become a reality!

Hi Vince, great ride, noticed your reference to Pirsig's classic book and your interest in doing the same route, thought you might like to know about a book
that is a follow up of sorts written by Mark Richardson, a journalist living in Toronto. His tale is a retelling and interpretation of the Pirsig saga, with cool background info on Pirsig his family and the other people named in the orginal, interviews and such. The book is called Zen and Now- On the Trail of Robert Pirsig and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (mouthful for sure). I am reading it right now actually and enjoying it, brings the original back to life in a new way, not as philosophical though so far, but Pirsig was a genius interested more in the nature of experience than motorcycles so I am not surprised. The book Zen and Now was recently published (says 2008 on the jacket here). Oh and it also has a sweet picture of a Hawk on the cover. Mangonotforget.

Yes I read Mark's book last year, and it does give a pretty good insight into what the route is like, and the things to prepare for. I don't think, however, that I'll be visiting any of the people in the book!

it is sad how many bikes i am building at once, and then always thinking out far ahead for other builds, i love getting ideas on here! Dad has me working on his Herritage (AGAIN), then my cafe is still being tuned (soon by a forum member), got the fighter, the gold wing, now my motor is out of the harley, and my partners GSXR... next week i have 2 road kings coming in as well... ahhh i need to focus on one scoot ha ha ha i just want the fighter DONE!

Dude, I totally feel you on that Joe. I have 4 project bikes in the wings. My problem is that I don't invest the spare money into one project at a time. I buy random parts for random bikes all of the time and end up with a crap load of unfinished projects. I know I have a problem. I'm glad you do too, it makes me feel better about myself. And man, that motor work on the Harley is sick! And the fighter is soooo close! Nothing you can't handle brother!

ha ha ha ha ha that is awesome! i have almost all the parts i need for both the CB350 bobber and the CB500 cafe already, i seem to always rack up the parts and use about 1/2 of them when i really build it!

I have to say that every bike nominated this month is a credit to their owners. It was a hard decision to make. I'm a sucker for a classic though and that Superhawk really tugged at my heart strings. Great work by everyone though, each of you well and truly deserving of DTT BOTM.

Wow - forgot it was the 31st and the poll ended earlier today!

Congrats to Kanticoy's 1974 CB360T Gretta for walking away with this month's BOTM honors, scoring nearly 50% of the record 156 votes this month!

Banner on the way! As always I'd love to see any banner magic someone else comes up with.
