Bar End Mirrors

I am looking to buy some bar end mirrors online and I have seen a large disparity in cost for mirrors that look very similar. I understand the difference is probably quality but in a lot of circumstances the quality difference is marginal and going with the cheapies isn't always a bad thing. Is that the case with bar end mirrors? I don't mind spending the extra cash if its worth it. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

These ones are: $18 bucks plus another $25 shipping

These ones are from China. Free shipping (not sure how that works)

Then most part distro websites have them but they are much more expensive. $85 for a pair. Probably shakes down as double of what the ebay ones are.

I also found some Canadian sites that were about the same in price.

Honestly I wouldn't buy the most expensive ones, as bar end mirrors are the first element which gets chips, scratches and in case the bike falls, amorses the impact or get knocked off when you are driving between cars to be the first at the red light.
I have my 3rd pair on (one got stolen the other, well its sharing a place in haven with the Ford fiesta left mirror :))

I have these on my bike and they are great

Would you care to expand on how you use the hose? Thanks...

ah of course! i use auto fuel line, remove the shitty metal clips they give you and use a nut on the end, flanged lock nut, cut a 1/2-1" section of hose, slide that over the bolt, and start the nut, put that in the bar and tighten, it will compress the hose and cause it to expand to hold it in nice and tight! this does well to absorb bar vibration as well, i jsut did it last night on a street fighter we are building in the shop i can snap some pics of the process, granted it is on bar ends but they are the same as the bar end mirrors

Does anyone know if it's possible to fit bar end mirrors AND signals, such as the below?

you could do that with these mirrors

you just clamp the mirror onto the bar instead of using the plug that goes into the bar.

As said before just use whatever cheap mirrors you like. They all do the same thing especially with tips like JRK5892 mentioned

These are what i used on both of my bikes. They are great.

The first ones on your list on Ebay for $18 I actually bought for $4 a pair. I've seen the same ones offered for as high as $77 elsewhere. Mine had a funny story with them. I asked if the in the bar mount could be removed and be used by clamping to the outside of the bar because I have solid Tommeselli Clip-Ons. They said that it would probably not work. I took a chance for $4 shipped to see. When I got them I found that they indeed do what I wanted. In the first pic if you look at the assembled one there is a tapered nut that spreads the internal clamp to hold it inside the handle bar. In the disassembled mirror you will see the nut is missing. I didn't need it because I was tossing the guts anyways. I figured it was worth a try to get a partial refund for not having all the parts. I asked for a partial refund of $2. They said instead of issuing a refund they would rather just send me another set of mirrors which tells me they have probably less than $1in these mirror as it was cheaper to send me another pair than to just give me $2.00 ;D
I ended up selling the other pair for $20 to someone else. I can't find them on Ebay for $4 any more but they are less than $10 a pair.

If you could post some pictures, I'd like to see.

I remember when I got some ebay ones for my old CB650, I had to add some cardboard over it to tighten all the way. Wasn't a big deal, but more so that you had to do anything. Funny thing is that the ones that are 2-3 times the price on other websites look exactly the same and probably are.

I've got those 1st ones you list on e-bay (bought from amazon though). I agree with Joe, the mounting hardware is junk. Instead of replacing, I just put a piece of small bicycle inner tobe over the collet as it wouldn't tighten up enough. They look pretty good and work like mirrors.
