Im rewiring my xs1100 to give it a clean cafe look and i am having a hard time finding a good way to hide the wires.. does anyone have and tips???

Which wires in particular? Under the tank and seat is a no-brainer, you can feed the switchgear wires through the bars, so pretty much the most visible wiring would be around the triple clamp area??

I want to hide hide the battery and the solenoid in the dome part of the seat...

If you're moving the battery it is just a matter of routing. Put the whole package under the bump, and almost everything would run under the seat and tank. The system can be simplified pretty easy to remove bulk too. You still have the drops to the points, brake switch, and generator, but those tuck away along or inside the frame rails.

Also, get some black wire loom. Put the wires in the loom. The black loom is less obvious then a bright red wire. Will keep the wires neat, but accessible.

I like the black loom idea.. when shortening the frame is it best to cut it at that shocks? or should i keep a bit of frame like an inch or so?

Before shortening the frame you may want to decide on what set you are going to go with. How long the seat is will determine where the hump falls on the rails. You will want rail there under the hump area for the battery tray etc.

The way I do it is to create an 'electrics center' under the seat. I use relays to control the headlamp so that wiring to the handle bars is minimal and can be half the standard thickness as there is no current going to the switch gear.

Its not cheap and takes a fair amountof time, the last bike I did this to took 5, 10 hour days!

Its a Yamaha SR500, one of the bikes we specialise in. I've just bought a SRX600 in boxes as I thought an 80's single was needed to compliment my 70s thumper!

That one in the picture was a customer's bike we did

Not 100% sure what all feedback you would like on the bike. I know the fuse box is a notorious problem area and should be changed for a blade type ASAP. It was probably the heaviest beast I have owned. However it was probably the smoothest ride as well. Has a typical second gear issue. Details of fixing it can be found on the xs11 site. Shifts like a tractor...LOL

With all that being said if you have specific questions I may be able to help in certain areas. There are a few others on here that have/had xs11's.

Or ummmmm you could decide it sucks, it's junk....I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands for as high as $100.00 if it has a title...Bwahahahahaha (evil laugh)
