Re: 400-four, Not so RAT ROD.

I decided not to wait for new tubes to arrive from Hong Kong.

Moving forward w fork rebuild...Rusty RAT ROD style.

Draining stinky old fluid I almost lost my lunch a couple times. haha. ;D

Sanded the slide zones w 320 emory then hit em w the scotchbrite.

They came out remarkably smooth. But I will have to keep a smear of grease on em.

They will get me by for a season or two,

Until the proper restoration rolls around.

yes heating the old seals for removal...So STINKY!!!

All buttoned up,

fresh o-rings for caps once installed and filled w new oil.

Re: 400-four, TIN ROOF...Rusted.

One freshly restored motorbike frame...

PLUS...a Jar of Metal Effects Iron oxidizing paint and activator...

EQUALS...An old shitty looking frame. ;D. I couldn't be happier w the results.

And the REAL RUST is looking great too... ;)

Re: 400-four, TIN ROOF...Rusted.

New steering bearings...NOT!!!

Sent me the wrong ones. UGH.

On the upside. New fork tubes arrived just in the nick of time. A lot sooner than I expected.

So I went ahead and got them installed. :)

I’m digging it! Where did you find forks. I’ve got to get some for my bike. One is too far gone. It boogers up the seal
