BMW r90s bitsa bomber

Mad Science!
DTT BOTM WINNER
So as a lot of you know I picked up a random BMW airhead on a whim and a tip from a guy I met at barbers. Turns out it was a titled 76 r90s. Score. It was missing a fair bit when I got it, but progress has been chugging on. So far I've built a new subframe, new seat, swapped tanks, started restoring the fairing, yanking stock wires, upgrading charging system, ignition, etc. etc. luckily it came with some goodies like koni shocks, progressive fork springs, boxerworks triple clamp, 1000cc jugs and big valve heads. This won't be a beautiful every part powdercoated bike, but it will be a mile eating dead nuts reliable bike. Thought if show you what I have been up to.

The fairing was broken in half when I got it. MANY hours later we have a primer coat

Heads are out for new valve seats and rebuilding, but they are the big valve 40/44 mm heads and they're dual plugged

Mike, I'll race ya on the chop. Desmo, make it five bird houses. Thanks guys, it's been fun, and trying hard not to pretty it up too much because it it's being built to be ridden. That's hard for me! But in the end it should be a bulletproof bike that i can point somewhere and make it easily.

Well... If ya wanna. I mean, all I'll need to do is head towards the closest Starbucks. You'll need to pull in, I'll win. ;)

Seriously though, she's a looker already man. Keep at it.

Looks like a nice project Kiley and nice work so far (as usual).

When I first seen the picture of the tank the BMW roundel looked like a smiling face, figured the bike was happy it was being brought back to a nice life.

Bad splines in original wheel and final drive make me angry.

And this week on life styles of the rich and famous

I'm just pretending. Its actually "this week on the broke and drunk"

Kind of one if those projects that I wasn't looking for, but was too cheap to pass up. Cheap because it was a basket case. Too expensive to restore, so "hack it" says I. And I think it'll be cool because of it. Kind of like smashing a rare tank (Brad). Gonna piss a few folks off that I'm hacking a rare r90s, but screw it!
