I have to admit bud, I made myself chuckle w that one.

The build is as sweet as one can get. I had a 4.5 inch on mine a couple years ago. It was heavy, not as quick and got half the gas milage. I will absolutely respect any future tire decision you make for the machine. But, I believe the skinny rear tire makes it a "stand out" in world of obnoxiously fat tires...meant to be "stand outs".

Getting my vote. Not simply because I have a soft spot for 360s, but because its a really neat machine. And you did a superb job on her.
Now that you got her running, If you find you would like to talk carbs, I would be happy to do so. Im not a know it all. I will admit I dont have any experience w stacks, Sonreir would be a good go to guy for that.
I appreciate the offer to teach something on carbs. Other than the basics, I'm a newbie to carb tuning. I'll prob hit you up soon!

I appreciate your kind words. I agree the skinny tire does make it stick out a bit from the crowd!

Absolutely beautiful bike man - I agree on the skinny tire. Its not what is being done these days and it looks mean as hell.

Thank you!

So cool to see how many different ways these 360's can be built and yours is an excellent example of a cb360 bobber 8)

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build~"Root Beer float"

Got to ride my bike around the block for the first time. Granted I didn't have a front brake or brake light. (Need a new fitting for caliper)
But it put a huge fucking grin on my face!!!
Getting the correct fitting tomorrow and I'll be golden!
Nothing like getting it done last minute! I have a 100 mile ride Saturday! Kinda sweating bullets a little bit!

Lol! It's a bit on the small side for me. I'm 6'3",200#

I hope I can get it to 80. Still working out some tuning issues.
Full throttle is good, but partial throttle ok. Starting from a stop it want to choke out and die.
Thinking it might be my timing/valves are off. Going to check those today.
Stock was 100 jets. Went up to 108 too rich backed it down to 105. Runs of except the bottom end. Have tweeted the fuel mi. Screws as well.
Nothing like finishing it on the 11th hour! I am signed up for a ride Saturday, that is about 150-200 miles! Hope I can get it sorted out!

hope so too, bring a spare set of plugs and some tools incase you foul out plugs etc on the ride while tuning. I would suggest plug chops on the 1/4-1/2 throttle range to see what is up, lean or rich. Sounds like 3/4-full are ok.

Re: Bucky's '74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber Build~"Root Beer float"

Apparently knowing people that know more than I do helps! A friend who owns a bike shop sorted the carbs out for me. Looks like I'm going to make my ride tomorrow! I'll post up the results of the real maiden voyage tomorrow!
Wish me luck!!

Good luck with the ride. Make sure you have the kit to tighten things up as they loosen. Or maybe that's just my experience .

Thanks. I am brining some tools along with. Jut in case, cause something will loosen up. Prob pick up a spare set of plugs tomorrow am.

You should be able to hit 80 no problem. I'm 200lbs and was hitting 75 with bad compression and power loss at 5k rpm.

Just read through this for the umpteenth time and want to praise this build again. Very creative. I'm going to try that paracord trick.
