Cafe Crazy in Pennsylvania

Skyeye

Life 1/4 mile at at time!
Hello everyone!

Is this the twelve step program for Cafe Racer Madness?

I've been riding for a few years, learned to ride on a Honda CB350F the first year they were introduced! I started on Japanese bikes including a Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special (wish I still had that!) and Suzuki's, moved to Harleys then in 1995 discovered Buell. I have two 1995's. Always tinkering with my bikes, I got into drag racing a few years ago (my son's fault). Here I am on one of my projects, a turbo V-Rod I built that ran 10.30 at 145mph in the quarter.

Last year I was looking for a new project bike and discovered the Cafe scene, thanks to Steve Carpenter and sites like Do the Ton. After some shopping on eBay now I'm here in central Pennsylvania with two 1976 Honda CB750's in my garage a K and an F. The K is a POS I bought on line. Then a friend who works in a bike shop said he thought there was a CB750 in the shop that a customer hadn't picked up and they had the title. We dragged it out and she had an expired 1996 Maine license plate and had been in the shop ever since. New gas, new battery, a squirt of carb cleaner, 10 kicks and she started.....after 12 years!!! Now my son and I have Cafe project bikes.

I'm glad I found you guys and I'm looking forward to keeping up to date on your projects and offering help and advice when I can.

Not much to see right now..... The K model was pretty bad so it's COMPLETELY torn apart. I've started on the engine which is now a box of parts in baggies. It turned over but when I took it apart I found that a valve was bent. I've masked the engine cases and am sandblasting and painting them this weekend. Plans are to go with a lightened and balanced crank, new rods and an 836 big bore kit. Anybody have experience with Cycle xChange in Wisconsin?

The F is up on it's center stand waiting it's turn in Dr. Frankstein's workshop!

Here's some pictures of my two Buells. The first one I run on Friday nights the second one I found on eBay in Indiana. She sat for 7 years in a garage. Get this....it was owned by a self described "Harley Guy" who said it scared him to ride it!!!! 79 horsepower, oh my!

You bet!!!! Selinsgrove is about 40 miles south of Williamsport on Route 15. My son goes to Penn Tech.

PM me if you want to get together sometime with me and Matt.

Indeed it is. Just had the wife down to mall there two weekends ago.....christmas shopping. The bikes all blown apart right now...reworking the seat, fabbing a new tail section/tail light setup, repairing some rusty spots on the frame and swing arm, and contemplating building a set of rearsets......... when things warm back up above 40 it will be my main mode of transportation again....I'll be sure to look yas up.
