Let me get this straight. $3000 for a basically stock cb350 that's not in great condition, runs hot on one cylinder, needs tuning, and doesn't have a title- in Wisconsin- which happens to be one of the worst states for trying to title an old bike.

He also states he wants to restore another bike with the money. Yet he couldn't restore this to good running condition. Restored is more than a seat and a repainted tank....What a Maroon...

Worth it or should the paint job scare me away seeing how it could have been done to hide a drop?

Not a bad looking rebuild, wonder what it looked like before (if it was dropped) compared to now.

My friend (who rides an SV) was just talking about how his buddy had one a long time ago. I had never seen any posted until I searched it yesterday. Price is too steep for me, though

They couldn't give these bikes away. They were pretty expensive and sat on floors till they dropped the price to almost nothing. I paid $1,100 for a new one, and when my friends heard what I paid, they all ran down and got them. They handle pretty nicely and ride quality is good, but they are dead slow. That little 550 didn't make much h.p. and the shaft ate up a good portion of what it did make. I'd own one again knowing all this. The build quality was very good and it was dependable for me and my friends, got great m.p.g. and was a very good commuter. If you're into performance bikes, this isn't for you. If your into solid, dependable commuters, this might be the bike for you...

That's more or less what I use the bike for but I imagine it would be more fun than my 79' CB750 in the twisties :) I spent four hours in the hills yesterday and was following my friend (or more like chasing him) the majority of the time. Still had a blast though, but watching him makes me want to branch out. Not to mention I rode my buddies 86' Ninja 600 the other day for the first time and had a blast on it. These 80's sport bikes just retain so much value it's hard to find a good deal that is enough to go through the trouble of selling mine and buying another. Of course there are decent priced bikes but I'm not willing to add a third project haha.

If that was about 2,500 miles closer, it'd be in my garage......

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

I spent the day at a farm an hour or so away from ours today. Rained out so no field work. I didn't take pictures but it was ridiculous. Rod probably has 2-300 bikes. Pre war Harley's, Brit stuff, gt750's, 500 titans, cbx, lots of cbs, half dozen xs650s, bmws and the list goes on. Plus an entire junk yard of vehicles (probably more than 100). Kicker is, those vehicles are full of motorcycle engines, rims, covers, you name it.

Needless to say, a pretty fun day of picking. Headed home to take pics of stuff to haul down there on trade :). I know it's not craigslist but I had to share cuz I was so jacked. Best rainy day ever :)
