I have a spin on filter adapter on my CB750. It has two 1/2" ports for oil cooler lines. I have decided to take the oil cooler off. What can I block off the ports with? There must be some kind of rubber caps I could use to cover them and hose clamp them on?
Fortunately, that's not the case. Terry (who made the adapter) makes them with and without ports. I just decided to add the option at the time I bought it.

It looks like it might be national pipe thread. Id take the fitting out and take it to a hardware store and see if it matches. Or like ADC said, just loop them together.

ADC is right. Unless there is a bypass inside the adapter, if you block those ports, you block oil flow. Oil coolers are in series with the filter, not parallel.

Whoa! That's a leap of faith if I ever saw one.
Just because the maker offers one without oil cooler ports does not mean that the one with ports can just be plugged. I would think that the model with the oil cooler ports is ported differently inside. Like someone else explained, oil coolers are in series with the oil filter. It might not be difficult to figure out where to drill a new internal port to route the oil to the filter. I would contact the maker of the adapter and ask him. Maybe he'll even swap it out for one without the cooler ports.
Those hose bibs ought to be able to be unscrewed, and a brass pipe plug from the hardware store screwed it. It is almost certainly 1/8" pipe thread.
Loop it, I'd bet bottom dollar Alpha is spot on.
Otherwise oil flow would take the path of least resistance and either not get cooled or not get filtered.
Yep. Dont plug em - oil will be plugged aswell. Get a piece of tube and loop em. Or, get an original filter housing and ship the ring to me.
free of charge, but thats a no-brainer.
